Think the Siler is too much of a monster for line armour units? Well, check out the Federal Army Medium Tank, previewed on our blog. The vehicle will be available as either a tracked tank or a grav tank. Hull length is 75mm which in 1/100th scale (for 15mm models) is actually a little smaller than an M1A2.

artbraune31 Dec 2011 11:41 a.m. PST

Need these soon… Nice stuff as always Jon! 8^)

Redroom31 Dec 2011 11:47 a.m. PST

I really like strong massive looking tanks (Siler, Rebelminis Merka 5, WWII Tiger, etc.) this looks like it would fit in.

khurasanminiatures31 Dec 2011 11:51 a.m. PST

A heavy APC version is being developed now, same hull but passenger compartment in the back and an IFV type turret with lots of goodies on it. wink

John Bear Ross31 Dec 2011 11:55 a.m. PST

Very nice piece, Jon.

Best,
JBR

infojunky31 Dec 2011 12:02 p.m. PST

Any chance of getting that wonderful little Tri-Barrel on top as a separate piece?

khurasanminiatures31 Dec 2011 12:10 p.m. PST

Thanks John, I have some really nifty vehicles designed for me by another designer that have been waiting quite a while at the caster's -- hoping to be able to preview those cool things soon too! wink

Chef Lackey Rich Fezian31 Dec 2011 12:13 p.m. PST

Very nice design there. Good to see the Siler getting a little brother.

Any chance of getting that wonderful little Tri-Barrel on top as a separate piece?

I've been asking about that since the Siler came out.

Psyckosama31 Dec 2011 12:17 p.m. PST

any chance of a size comparison shot?

Andy Maloney31 Dec 2011 12:22 p.m. PST

Very nice looking kit Jon, I'll need 14 of them…

I'm w/ Infojunky and Chief on the Tri-Barrel, I can use systems like this on other vehicles and buildings.

von pumpernickel31 Dec 2011 12:34 p.m. PST

looking very very nice :)

doug redshirt31 Dec 2011 12:43 p.m. PST

I have been after a smaller main battle tank and matching APC then the Siler for awhile. Now I will put my money where my mouth has been and buy several squads worth of each. Thank you Jon.

Will the APC turret be like the one on the Hedgehog, remote control or a full turret with room for gunner and commander. Doesnt really matter except in how I set up my squads and platoons to fit in the APCs.

I was just getting ready to base up and paint a platoon of your Neo-Soviets infantry. Beside the new figures with the new head covering is their any other factions coming out in the new year?

khurasanminiatures31 Dec 2011 12:52 p.m. PST

Doug, it will be a full turret based on the drone mini-tank in development by the US military. Dropship Mark suggested I load it with weaponry … so I did!

Factions this year:

Jasmine Throne (including the elite foreign battalions), who are basically space sassanids

Stikks (insectoids)

Andromeda Cult (sci fi versions of the Octogod Cultists but with lots of new head options and a hover platform for Andromeda herself, or a crewed deck gun)

Thrainites (short stocky bearded humanoids)

More troopers for the Carnivoran Hegemony which is led by the Garn and now includes them and the Felids (Gunbulls which are basically space minotaurs, and other stuff too)

Maggotons and Species 84, two more races from "Dimension X"

Celestial Mariners, being made by PF, slender immortal humanoids in full carapace armour

An entire new range, not connected to the Federation Forward universe I have as my main sci fi line, with humans in huge power armoured suits fighting alien invaders

Did I miss anything? Yes, probably. Oh yeah, Los Viejos, space armadillo gunfighters, the most accurate shots in all Federation space. grin

Also a contemporary period zombie vs. uninfected range. More stuff for the End Times and Little Carinthia too.

And the Vornids are getting heavy weapon support and a huge skimmer that has to be seen to be believed! It will be the longest vehicle I make, the Vornid Pirate Galley. Actually the Maggotons get a vehicle even bigger than that (it's flipping HUGE).

Phew, fingers hurt ….

Dragon Gunner31 Dec 2011 12:58 p.m. PST

Good news I was on the verge of using Rebel Miniatures Earth Force vehicles to fill the role of medium tank and tracked APC now I can use them as a merc faction instead.

Eli Arndt31 Dec 2011 1:26 p.m. PST

Awesome armor. Those really do fit the bill for tanks just around the corner

Louie N31 Dec 2011 1:28 p.m. PST

"A heavy APC version is being developed now, same hull but passenger compartment in the back and an IFV type turret with lots of goodies on it."

I think I'm going to cry now. There are tears of joy for the future IFV in this style, which is awesome, and tears of lament for the bank account.

Thank you Khurasan.

Scorpio31 Dec 2011 2:18 p.m. PST

Dear lord, Khurasan. You're spoiling us.

Louie N31 Dec 2011 2:50 p.m. PST

Khurasan,

Is this the drone tank you referenced as the basis for the APC turret. The Black Knight

JRacel31 Dec 2011 2:53 p.m. PST

Wow, by the time I get in my next order, since I have a very long list, my wife is likely going to kill me.

VERY nice tank Jon

Jeff

flintlocklaser31 Dec 2011 2:53 p.m. PST

Jon, any further news on the Lhurgg with mortars you previewed a while back? My next order from you is waiting on these little guys to show up!

Sergeant Crunch31 Dec 2011 2:59 p.m. PST

Oooh shiney!

khurasanminiatures31 Dec 2011 3:15 p.m. PST

Yes Louis.

Lhurgg mortars and huk-huk warriors coming soon!

combat wombat31 Dec 2011 3:29 p.m. PST

Wow she is absolutely beautiful. There is a reason why you are top dog in 15mm armour. Another home run for you my friend. These might make a fine addition to my anitiociti APCs for my NVL force.

Tgunner31 Dec 2011 3:45 p.m. PST

Ahhh… nice! Now my US Army force has a MBT. Gleaming news Jon.

Chef Lackey Rich Fezian31 Dec 2011 4:04 p.m. PST

Lhurgg mortars and huk-huk warriors coming soon!

Huk-huk good. Make lhurgg happy, have huk-huk.

flintlocklaser31 Dec 2011 4:21 p.m. PST

Excellent, can't have an autochthon rebellion without a wide enough variety of autochthons!

Psyckosama31 Dec 2011 4:40 p.m. PST

What happened to the little armadillo guys with the pistols?

CorroPredo31 Dec 2011 5:57 p.m. PST

Second mortgage , here I come……

Wolfprophet31 Dec 2011 7:17 p.m. PST

Nice. Love 'em.

john lacour31 Dec 2011 7:49 p.m. PST

well, since someone asked about some other product in the works, i'll ask: any idea when the doe gunship will be ready?

Chatticus Finch31 Dec 2011 8:50 p.m. PST

Mate, these tanks look wicked! Although I knew you haven't done it yet it'd be great if you reconsidered making artillery for the different forces… They'd look just as great I reckon!

Alex Reed31 Dec 2011 10:07 p.m. PST

They sure do like those rubber tracks on all of the new tanks that are being developed.

LordNth31 Dec 2011 10:08 p.m. PST

With my next order to finish my Sharkmen I can see what else I'll have to get from you.

Hoping your caster doesn't hold it hostage like so many other items with the tag line "waiting to get it back from the caster." or the equally wrong tag line "It's been at the casters for months now."

Lion in the Stars31 Dec 2011 11:19 p.m. PST

I think I just found my M40 Ridgway heavy tanks.

My wallet weeps.

Wartopia01 Jan 2012 5:12 a.m. PST

That model's a keeper for sure! Beautiful! Looks sci fi while also being plauible. Nice balance.

WillieB01 Jan 2012 7:59 a.m. PST

Looks really great especially in grav mode.

khurasanminiatures01 Jan 2012 8:43 a.m. PST

A different caster will be working on this so I anticipate getting it back in a month to a month and a half after sending it in.

LordNth01 Jan 2012 10:36 a.m. PST

Sounds about the same time I will get a surge into my paypal.

Strangely enough I also found this image today.

picture

Close but it does give me ideas how this model will look when I paint it.

khurasanminiatures01 Jan 2012 4:34 p.m. PST

Think there might be a tiny design issue with that tank. wink

Umpapa01 Jan 2012 4:55 p.m. PST

I wish for Felids with RPG.

I wish for civilians Felids and Garns:
mum, dad baby family set and
trader, worker and technican set.

Would sell well, I dare to say.

Barks101 Jan 2012 5:23 p.m. PST

I love it. I'll get 4 plus some of the variants

LordNth01 Jan 2012 6:22 p.m. PST

"Think there might be a tiny design issue with that tank."

You mean the small VTEC engine sitting on it's side and the crew crawling thought the hull and turret? I noticed that.

khurasanminiatures01 Jan 2012 6:34 p.m. PST

I meant that the turret bustle nestles into the rear hull perhaps a little too snugly. grin

LordNth01 Jan 2012 7:55 p.m. PST

so it only appears to look like your new tank, that everyone wants a few of, at first glance. ;)

khurasanminiatures01 Jan 2012 10:51 p.m. PST

I don't see the resemblance TBH but of course that's just my opinion, understood that others may see it differently.

NoLongerAMember02 Jan 2012 8:14 a.m. PST

Glorious tank, thankfully its in the wrong scale for me.

khurasanminiatures02 Jan 2012 8:53 a.m. PST

For now…. grin

NoLongerAMember02 Jan 2012 9:31 a.m. PST

Uh oh, although the Garn craft in 28mm would be nice…

And I have just emailed you about something else in your 15mm range becoming 28mm…

khurasanminiatures02 Jan 2012 11:20 a.m. PST

The rockjumper? Not a bad idea at all….

Psyckosama02 Jan 2012 2:12 p.m. PST

*cough*

Size comp shot please?
