Ok, I finally started my gaming blog after much procrastination. I've either got my New Year's resolution done early, or I'm really late with last year's resolution. Take you pick.

gamerarchitect.blogspot.com

(I'm a gamer and an architect, go figure?)

You can find a little bit of everything on my blog as I play a variety of games in numerous scales and eras. I always joke that if you mention a war or scale, I can probably reach into a box and pull out the proper scaled miniatures and terrain to play the game.

Scales include: 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25/28mm, and 54mm as well as starfighter scale.

Eras & themes include, but not limited to: AWI, ACW, Seminole Wars, WWI, WWII, Napoleonics, SYW, Modern, Zombies, Wild West, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Bloodbowl, Necromunda, Planet of the Apes, Hydroplanes, Car Wars, Vikings, Trains, Franco-Mexican War, TWI, Vietnam, Terminators, Colonial/Zulus and a host of others, if they aren't posted yet.

Also included are lots of terrain building ideas and accessories that can be downloaded and/or printed.

Friendly and constructive comments are always welcome.

Have a happy "Gaming New Year".

Me too! I've met a few others as well.

I see you are in Pinellas Co. FL. I grew up in St Pete. Weird.

I also like sci fi and WWII games. Too bad I'm in TX.

Entertaining Blog. How did the pickets charge game end? It stopped half way and looked like there might be a boil over.

Falkenhayn,

You got me all excited, but unfortunatley Fighting 15's onlyhas the newer 'Boiler Suited Apes' not the OOP 'Apes with Guns'. For a minute, I thought I was gonna find a secret stash the way I had found my Eureka 'Shiny One-eyed Robots (aka Cylons)'. Oh well.

Thanks for trying.

Maxshadow,

Yes, that always happens when you keep forgetting to take pictures for that darn 'future' blog.

The Charge at the Bloody Angle fissled out as the infantry kept being dessimated by infantry fire. When the CSA set up their guns, they were quickly neutralized by Union artillery counter-battery fire. We didn't quite finish the combat on the Confederate right, as it was lagging behind the attack on the left side. However, they were starting to take the same type of casualties that the left was encountering. I plan on doing it again, but allowing for more time to let the whole attack play out, and maybe better coordination on the part of the CSA. I think if they didn't go in piecemeal, they would have stood a better chance rather than 2 or 3 regiments at a time. I would also have kept the artillery limbered and covered by infantry to deploy closer to the stone wall, and maybe get in some close and/or flank shot on the Union line.

yar68,

Yes, I've been very busy. It takes a while to upload 10+ years of games and stuff. (What was that again?) Pictures of earlier games are actual photos rather than digital, so need to scan some of those in before posting.

However, future posting will be easier, posting as we play.

again it is a very exciting blog esp for one just starting.
I look forward to seeing how your next attempt goes. Have your thought of trying for the whole battle in stages?
Regards
Max

Maxshadow,

I've contemplated doing that, using Johnny Reb 2.5 and regimental scale, but realized I was insane. The largest game I ran was a 'generic scenario' on a 6'x16' table with all of my figures. (about 48+/- regiments per side with all the necessary artillery and some cavalry.)

In order to pull it off, I'd need 2-3 other people like me with similar numbers of figures and a large number of players and gamemasters. Unfortunately, there just aren't enough JR players in my area with those kind of figs and the desire to play.

Gear Pilot,

Give me a shout at my email. I'd like to chat for a bit, games and architect stuff.

Thanks.
