Dear fellow members, need help for a local wargamer of WW1 who want to buy and paint a unit of Montenegrin soldiers.
There is a pic of them.

picture

But infortunally in black and white.
So, two questions please:

1°) Which company sold this soldiers in 25mm or 28mm (metal)
2°) Any guidance about the colors of their uniforms and caps?

Thanks in advance for your help!.

Part of the Montenegrin army wore a brown service dress, with white leggings. The reserves wore national dress, with white leggings, baggy blue trousers, what looks like a white coat with a red or crimson waistcoat over it. This was subject to incividual variations. The caps the lads in the photo are wearing would be black with a red top, for the reserves (this was initially their only uniform item), or dark blue for other troops, and brown caps with the brown uniform. It looks like the soldiers in the photo are kind of a mix. None of my sources mention the striped cloaks.
Troops were armed with the Russian three-line rifle and the Berdan II rifle the Russian Army had used in the late 1800s.
I thought perhaps Tiger carried Montenegrin troops as part of their Balkan War line, but I didn't see them.

Some sources include:
Military Uniforms of the World by Preben Kannik
Arms and Uniforms: The First World War, Part 1 by Liliane and Fred Funcken
Armies of the Balkan States, 1914-1918 by the (British) General Staff, War Office

Think Irregular are doing a Balkans war range in 15mm and Tiger in 28mm

Tiger has plans to make them.
Old glory has a couple of packs ww1-900 & ww1-901 but never seen one.

a proxy would be serbian infantry, regulars in the ww1 were similar uniforms. I doubt that in the ww1 they still used the traditional dress.
Some web links for uniforms:

I have a pack of the Old Glory Montenegrin infantry. They are pretty nice figures. They are in the service dress uniforms.

Hate to be picky, but are we sure the photo is from WWI?
The caption does not mention a date, or even the enemy they're marching out to fight. Could it be from the Balkan Wars? As I understand it, the Montenegrins didn't wear "drab" uniforms in those conflicts. Could explain the multicolored clothing.

Many, many thanks boys for your very good guidance.!.

Pan Marek, I really don't know, the pic was picked up from a WW1 link.
(That's what the guy who send me said about it).

Okay! And just to keep the pot boiling, TVAG is about to release two differently uniformed 54mm Montenegrins cast in resin as part of the new "Little Warriors" line.

Other Balkanoid sculpts in 54mm (Greeks, Romanians, Bulgarians, Serbians) are already completed and will be released at the same time as the Monties.

Should be rolling out this Winter--with so much else!

I have some Montenegrin 25mm (really 28mm) from a range made in the late 1970's for the Balkan Wars. I will try and find the mfg. Anyone remember these?

Books about WWI published in the 1920 (saw them in my grand mother library, long ago) showed -in photos and uniform plates- Montenegrin 'infantry' (probably reservists) in such costume at the start of the war. Could not the 'striped cloaks' be blankets? The unit looks in a pretty bad shape.

TVAG--Oh my. I'll have to take a look at those when they come out.

TVAG--While you are at it. Can you do a heavy machine gun? None of the plastics manufacturers seem to want to make a good old Maxim or similiar in 54mm.
