Big and beautifull gametable.
You could see how people enjoy the game very much.

As Vader would say "Impressive,Most Impressive".

Reminds me of my Grassy Plains game layout although this is more detailed I must say.

Very nice. "The force is strong with that one!"

Not bad but it looks like thier research is off on the layout. I love the detail on the base. I see they are also using Star Wars Miniatures rules, Battle of Hoth rules which I am not a big fan of either.

I love the interior of the base and wish I knew where they got all the excessories.

Also the figures are very nice I am interested in the wash they used on the Snowtroopers.

And the textured bases is spot on. I have about 12 done similar but realized it took me way too long to do that for the scale I want to do Hoth at. I had to limit it to several coats of flat exterior house paint to get a good result without adding all that texture (I was using dried coffee ground and it just took too long). Right now I am about 80% done on about 1200 figures.

Frank was also responsible for much of the model work on the Sudan game at the same show…

I am also wondering what wash they used on the figures.

Both are very nice. I think the Khartoum board/minis/game could be one of the better ones I have seen. Some of the pictures look straight out of the movies.

Someone had a lot of time on their hands

Great looking game!

but it looks like thier research is off on the layout.

Compression for the sake of the table, I suspect. The Battle of Hoth was probably still 2-3 kilometers across by the time blaster fire started.

You're right. Let's use yours instead.

I'm curious about the game play. In the movie, the storm troopers get to the base and the rebels get out of the hanger at the last minute. What does the rest of the interior of the base add to the game other than eye candy? Do the storm troopers fight down every hallway?

EJ, In my scenario the Hoth troopers you see running back to Echo base have to get through it to get to the final shuttles. Darth Vader came in via air along with other Snow troopers. The Millenium Falcon got out only after Darth Vader enters the base. Do you really think there could not be others who were working there way to the shuttles? Luke shows up at a staging point where there are many folks still working on the X-Wings. How did they get away? I based my scenario on combined arms operatiions tactics and techniques. Echo base represents the final assault and a great scenario.
