Has anyone seen any of the alternate setting expansions yet (Tobruk, Kursk, 1940)? Are they going to be released to buy or only via the WI magazine subscription? Based on comments on the guild site it seems to be only the latter? Also is anyone using these with 6mm figures (cms replacing inches), how is it working? |

A few lists are going to be published via WI, the airborne forces iirc. All of the other pieces are the work of Piers Brand, who is currently deciding the best way to publish these in consultation with Warwick. |

Plenty of discussion here: link Tally Ho! |

Warwicke is doing a number of lists including Kursk, and Piers has already done Kampfgruppe Barbarossa, 1940, Saipan, and is working on Tobruk. The British Paratrooper list will be in January or February issue of Wargames Illustrated with the US Paras to follow some time later. All the "big" lists are pending publication since Piers isn't sure how to release them to avoid problems with GW. Some sort of donation to a Veteran's charity has been mentioned. All this can be followed on the most excellent Guildwar Gamers Forum. link |

I just got my copy of Kampfgrppe Normandy in the mail today as a late Christmas present. Of course, my first question is how will future theaters be published given that GW does not appear to want to support its historical section. |

shoot, Naz posted before me and I see that my question has been answered some what. Now if I can just remember my username and password for the Guild. |

whitemanticore: me too! hence my questions. I started going through the backlog of posts on guild but got lost amongst the discussions of those "in the know" and those not, with some people discussing how great the lists are and everyone else in the dark. Piers is obviously putting a lot of work into these new theatres (and having read the rules through I can see why he thinks it worth it). I hope a solution is found to get at least 1940 and the Russian campaigns published, Tobruk would be great too but I don't have armies for the desert war yet. |

Yes
We hope that we may have a definitive answer as to what we will do at some point in the next few months. Of course that may all go to pot
This is a GW publication dont forget and they tend to be a little sticky over IP rights these days (which is fair enough). It also depends on workloads too
I know Warwick is very busy with a few other projects too for a while and I have some stuff to do for AAG too. KG 1940 is out for playtesting with a group of Early War buffs to see what they make of it. KG Tobruk has had some desert war types look over it for me and they were very complimentary about it which bodes well. KG1940 still needs the BEF list finished and tested, KGTobruk needs some more testing and I have a couple of groups lined up to do it as I like to get others to try them out as my group helped developed them so blind testing is well worthwhile. Along with those I have also done the unimaginatively titled 'KG Pacific' which is two generic list for 1944 in the Pacific. Its more for a mate who has a ton of Pacific stuff but we are also using it as a testbed to see what flavour we can bring to the Japanese and the USMC within the existing rules framework. Im quietly confident we may have a few neat ideas to work with. Im also working on KG Barbarossa, my personal pet project that will take a long time to surface. Im also distracted by using it for my Iran-Iraq War stuff when I want to do games too big for F-on-F. Warwick has indeed done a 6th Airborne list for the Feb issue of WI. He is also working on KG Germany, US and German lists for 1945
Im hoping to shoehorn a Russian and British list into that. He has virtually finished KG Kursk and we have both been playtesting it heavily. Its rather nice and plays very well. Really its all a case of how we release them. They all still need fleshing out
Most are just vehicle stats and lists with a few additional rules that are theatre specific. Obviously we would want to add some background along with scenarios to complete the package as it were. Sadly I cant offer anything concrete at present regarding releases other than the fact that Warwick is determined to see the rules continue to develop, and Im firmly onside to help out and provide as much as I can to support the development of KGN. Hopefully someway of getting the material out can be found. |

Piers, I would like to join you test group for Tobruk as I have company size forces in 15mm and at least platoon size for 28mm for that theater . I will have to wait until next week to sign up as my passwords for The Guild are at work and I am off until January 3rd. I suppose I could try to set up a new account but I would rather continue the one I already have. |

Drop me a PM when you are on The Guild. |

Will do expect something from me next week. Nazrat ran a game for us last week using the first scenario and it was a blast. |

Piers: Thank you for the update. |

No problem Rob. Im trying to post any 'development' news up on The Guild as it happens so may be worth dropping in there from time to time. |

Just posted an AAR of the first playtests of the Pacific lists I have been working on over on The Guild. Played well and gave a tense, close game. Few changes I need to make but nothing too major before the next test. |
