What would be your interest level in a campaign in which a player managed a Space Marines chapter over several generations, having to deal with losses and replacements?

On a scale of 0 (no interest) to 10 (yeah, baby!).

7-8… that's actually a pretty cool idea. More of a pen and paper exercise than one for miniatures, but definitely an interesting way to give your force some history.

Could be interesting. Maybe a 6 from me.

Now, if it was an Ork Waaagh . . .

9. That's a great idea. We were doing something similar with my group for an SST campaign. One company of cap troopers, multiple planetary territories. We're about 11 games into it and already have 7 irreplaceable casualties and another 16 still "Recovering from serious injuries." We even came up with a matrix to determine who's actually dead at the end and who's just wounded, how severely and their recovery time.

No interest whatsoever.

8-9. I have a very similar project developed for my own skirmish/squad level solo game set in the 40k universe. It involves developing and managing an inquisitor's retinue over the inquisitor's lifetime.

7-8. I'm surprised there has not been a White Dwarf article about it.

Chocolate Fezian25 Dec 2011 1:54 p.m. PST

Depending on how it goes it could be a 10

Scott Kursk25 Dec 2011 4:12 p.m. PST

10 if it is run right.
1 if it is run wrong.
I had been giving a long campaign with consideration to losses etc for a while.
