At the end of the day, the best rules are the ones each individual likes and it is pointless to attempt to persuade others. I like FOG ancients for the Ancients period but cannot stand Shako for Napoleonic as it has absolutely no period feel for me. however if others like Shako, empire or whatever then good for them and I respect their views albeit I may not agree with them.

Spot on – I think we should make sure that quote comes up every time someone has a discussion about rules systems.
