Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to add the period to the additional army lists for the upcoming Muskets and Mohawks. Have F&I War, AMR, Naps and Texas as War of Independence.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Donald Graves books on the War of 1812 have excellent appendixes on Orders of battle and unit strengths:

Where Right and glory Lead (Lundy's Lane, 1814)

Field of Glory (Chryslers Farm, Chattagauy, 1813)

Red coats and Grey Jackets (Chippawa, 1814)

For the Canadian forces I would reccommend Man At Arms 319 British Forces in North America 1793-1815

MAA 345 The United States Army 1812-1815 does have some information on organisation but is mostly concerned with the minutia of uniform procurement and supply. There is little I've come across on the American militia, volunteers and state troops of the War of 1812 other than a Warrior volume on the Milita of the Southwest Frontier.

What Glengarry said. Plus Rich Barbuto did a couple of nice articles in MWAN.

Lots of trouble finding information on what various militia actually wore or how they were organized.

I've been trying like all get out to wrangle that information on the New York Militia for Queenston Heights.

Hopefully with the bi-centenial we'll see some more scholarly work done on the subject.

Glengarry,

Chartrand's recently reprinted A Most Warlike Appearance has the most thorough coverage of the American militia and state troops I've encountered.

Thanks Florida T, I've heard of it (and the companion volume on the British Army of the War of 1812 by the same author) but I don't have the money to buy either.
