Oh and that is some dedication. I thought I toughed it out with my 50ish ones I painted. :) Color me impressed! Are you planning on playing the battle for Yonkers with this horde? |
Moe the Great | 15 Dec 2011 10:31 a.m. PST |
I have already played the battle of Yonkers at two HMGS East Conventions. ANd just to make sure we got the point across, once a stand died it went to the back of the horde. I will be running another game at Cold Wars in March using most of them. The players will start on the board with some of the Single based zombies scattered about and on a random end of the table the Large FOW based horde will sweep across the table. The players will have to find a way out of town or a place to hold up as the horde passes. I have used a modified FOW rule set that I made for the Battle of Yonkers. (worked great) I have also used No Room Left in Hell, ATZ and combination of a few rule sets for some convention games. (just to keep things lively and to make things easy on new players) I will add more pictures of the Cold Wars Table and terrain as I progress. p.s. Thanks DZT |

Thanks all. It's fun to stretch the zombies on the FOW bases 2-3 deep across the narrow end of a 4'x 6' table. In one Battle of Yonkers game where the Zombies who die go to the back ranks of the horde, (to simulate the 9 million zombies in the book) the human players killed 325 bases of zombies before their luck and ammo ran out. (they had a blast) I will show my 28mm Horde tonight
p.s. one of the best things about the horde above is that my then Girlfriend and now Wife painted most of them
What people do for love

I didn't want to leave my 28mm Zombie horde out so here they are.
Over 120 PLastic and Metal Zombies, from Mantic, Wargames Factory and the Entire King ZOmbie line.
All of the zombies have famous or infamous names. During my convention games people like to see exactly who they killed or killed them
"Aw shucks, killed by Martha Stewart again.."
Moe. |

28mm.. now you are talking! Like em.. My own horde has just begun..
There are a few more dogs to add to the lot shown, they got missed during basing. And the first lot of dogs are now painted and first set of zombies undercoated. Just playing with skin colours. I like the naming.. though I don't think I will quite go that far with mine. My metal ones are all Victory Force Miniatures, but I am considering getting some of the wargames factory plastics, to make corpses from, if the plastic is the right type. Some plastics can be heated and bent, not sure if the WF stuff fits into that class yet, but will be giving it a try.

Moe
you are great. That is the sort of end result that could and would convert even the most resistant of anti-zombie gamer
anyone viewing that would be stunned into an instant euphoria of "yes yes I want to play with zombies!" Well done
you crazy zombie master you! |

@28mmMan, Praise from Ceaser.. :) Wait until you see my Cold Wars Convention Game. "War and Peace and Zombies" Should be a hoot!! (although the hardcore Napoleonic players might not find it as amusing.) |
