Hola My sister in law lives in Cabrils, just North East of Barcelona (about 25km I think). My wife is flying out next weekend for her sisters 40th birthday party and I thought I might get her to pick me up some Vallejo paints as they have a Barcelona address. I was wondering how easily available they are and how much she is likely to have to pay in €uros? Mucho gracias adiós Andy

In any good miniatures shop (not GW, mind you!) your wife will find a good stock of paints. The price is about 1,25 euros per bottle (more or less). Mind that Vallejo doesnt have shops but it is a bussiness with a workshop somewhere in the industrial belt of Barna. Try better in miniatures shops or Artists shops. Here is an adress of a miniaturism shop in Barna: Jordi Rubio Miniaturismo Militar Especializado Avenida Gaudi, 56 - 08025 Barcelona Phone: 93 433 45 53 Fax: 93 435 78 79 E-mail: info@jordirubio.com www.jordirubio.com They are specialized in tanks and aircraft. Cheers and hope it helps! |

This is not a shop per se, but a mail order business, though I beleive Dermot has hours by appointment. He also stocks tons of historical minis, so make sure your shopping list is complete! link Tell Dermot I said hi. Oh, yeah, check out the Andrea line of paints. Same stopper bottle as Vallejo, very good paint. |

Wow, only 1.25 euros in Europe, and $3 per bottle here in the usa ! Great paint, but now I'm feeling a little like a sucker for buying 'em. |

Hi Try Figurat, a small shop with a good selection of Vallejo paints: Calle Casanova 21, between Gran Via and Sepulveda. Nearest metro on the red line is Urgell. Or call me on 00-34-934545883. campaign-game-miniatures.com I sell them too and I am near the shop mentioned who has a larger stock. I work from home with a stock/showroom for visitors. I've been living in Barcelon for 21 years, yesterday 17th Oct was the 21st anniversary of my arrival. Been selling miniatures for 4 years. I can help your sister-in-law with the language if she goes to that shop. PS hi to Mark of Extra Crispy Cheers, Dermot |

Thanks for that Dermot. Don't think my sister in law will have any problem with the language as she's been out there for about 15 years now and does the full spanish/catalan thing (though the first time I went out 10 years or so ago she didn't know what brocolli was called, turns out they called it brocolli in the local market!!) It turns out (since talking to her on her last visit) that Mataro is where she goes more than Barca these days, though her hubby has his office in Barca itself (but is seldom there, jets off all over the place all the time). Any idea if there are any decent model/hobby shops there? We are flying out for Christmas this year, so I will be able to do my own looking (hopefully). Cheers Andy I do go on a bit don't I. |
