I seem to remember someone making conversions to their 15mm figures to make them look like they were wearing visors. I think they looked pretty simple. Perhaps something like this:
Or . . .
I'm hoping to do the same. Does anyone remember such a tutorial or blog post? Thanks, Dan |

I've done a similar thing in 1/72nd – I laid a small strip of greenstuff across the face, waited for it to take and flattened it. Then I scored the centre line and AFTERWARDS (to take into account putty displacement when scoring) trimmed the edges of the strip to make them sharp and cool-looking. |

hmm I might consider this for my Sahadeen. I could do it to a few and it would be a quick and easy way to add some flavor. I'll have to think about it. |

I've done this a few times. I sometimes go all out and try to add goggles. Goggles, I find are actually easier than a good visor. -Eli |

I've added goggles to my 15mm ACW-VSF Steam Rocket Troopers and Airborne Troopers. They are small punch-outs. They are a little too large, but they served the purpose at the time.
Cheers, Barry |

Barry: "They are small punch-outs" As in tiny paper puncher holes, like the ones done by this 1/16 hole puncher?

CC, Nice catch, I co-opt some of the wife's scrap-booking, craft punches and dies when she's not looking if they serve the purpose. But I never realised that they made them that small, it would be pretty much perfect at just over 1.5 mm. Done in thin card you might have a winner! |

Those ACW troopers are really cool – I may have to steal them for a HoTT army! |

you can also take some brass tubing (size depends on what you want) , cut a short peace , take a exacto knife and rim out one end to sharpen the round eadge and take a small hammer and stamp out small circles with it. they will some times bubble out which is good if you need small cruved shapes. if not just flatten them back out. hope that helps |

Hi Dan, Sorry for not replying sooner. I used to work in a factory making electical components. The punch outs are 1mm wide and are from thin copper strip we used. I use them for rivets as well. Elohim – Glad you like them. These troopers are from my GASLIGHT VSF-Union army. Cheers, Barry |

Barry, That is brilliant. I wish I had a way of getting my hands on any round 1mm bits around here. It really does the job! Thanks, Dan |

Guys, Any other cool artwork out there, to inspire us a bit more? Thanks, Dan |

You can build your own here link As often fantasy as scifi, but this is good for inspiration too link |

Dan CC, I found a ton of inspiration last night while search for "post-apocalyptic wall paper." Apparently, only 2 types of people will survive the apocalypse – hot women who show a lot of skin and men who are completely covered and wear gas masks, visors or head wraps. |

LOL And, let me guess, wearing lots of goth-looking bits, right? :) Dan |

I'm working on this project right now with a FOW Soviet SMG platoon. For visors, I'm using sections of coffee-stirrers, little straws meant specifically for coffee and tea. First I cut off a small section, then split that in half length-wise. I can glue it either in the down position or in a raised position, too, so there is some variety there. If my wi-fi is working back home tonight, I'll take a couple WIP pics and post them up for you, CC! |

Okay, here are a few pics of my visored neo-soviets. I'm building these more as riot police style face shields, not Halo Master Chief wraparound visors. Some of the guys have their visors up and some down.
I also threw in a couple pics of my prehensile UAV operators. The helicopter drone is from PicoArmor and the fixed-wing drone is a German Horness fighter from Brigade Models' starship line.

I guess I may have to add a few welding visors too!!! :) Dan |

Javelin. Now you have to tell us where to find curvy coffee-stirrers! The ones I find here are all flat! |

For this look:
I guess I have poncho-making down:
link link All I need now is to duplicate that on a dozen or so human figures, add goggles/visors and some headcloth, and voila. Dan |
