link I have added some new pictures to the Fife & Drum blog including a rather nifty looking Continental drummer in reverse colors (red coat and blue facings). Click on the link above for more information. link |

DAF: >>One more thing about firing lines: I hear wargamers say that they don't like this kind of pose<< A man after my own heart. Couldn't agree more about that unit pose. Love the "breakdown of fire discipline" phase. A very nice departure from the run of the mill unit appearances. Looks really good on the tabletop while the old front rank kneeling firing, back rank standing firing for wargaming just didn't work. Nice diorama, but not utilitarian for the table. In fact, FWIW, I just yesterday ordered one of Victrix' new 1807 Russian battalion "firing" pack for that very reason.

I just got some samples of the British LI featured at the top of the blog, and some militia, and they are some of the very best AWI miniatures I have ever seen. Not only that, they are perfectly compatible with Perry and Eureka. |

That sounds good. I need some guardsmen for my Guiliford Court house game. |

We have the figures for the British Brigade of Guards including the flank companies in their caps. Fife & Drum is the only company in the 25mm-30mm spectrum that makes such figures. The centre company Guards have the correct equipment that includes the wooden barrel canteen and the bayonet scabbard (both of which were not used by the regular line infantry). I am working on a battalion of about 30 Guards that should be painted and posted on the blog within a couple of weeks. BTW, British line infantry and grenadiers in bearskins are next in the production queue and hopefully will be available in the January/February period of 2012. |

"I hear wargamers say that they don't like this kind of pose" Probably because a real firing line looked like this:
