Hi,
I finished four units of Baccus auxilia and took the opportunity to compare them to the same ounits from Pendraken.

I am a big fan of Baccus 6mm. I have a lot of 6mm stuff. Baccus is fantastic.6mm looks like an army.

Stunning work – and units that look like real units – I think Pendraken make the best 10mm out there, but have to say that like for like those 6mm are very special!

It's always good when someone compares apples and oranges.

Very nice comparison.

The Pendraken's are from their older line. The newer sculpts, last 5 years are so are quite stunning.

Baccus makes the best in the 6mm genre but to be frank, they are really 8mm figures. Just like the newer Pendraken sculpts are at least 12mm maybe 13mm. You can do a lot more with a bit more height. Pretty soon, 6mm will be the size of the old 10mm, 10mm will be the size of old 15mm and 15mm will be the size of 20mm. Actually, we are almost there!

Where is Mark from Scale Creep to chime in? lol

Ancientgamer, the comparison is not about quality but scale, at least that was my intention.
Regarding their actual size it does not bother me if they are 6 or 8mm as it's my first army. The important thing here is that, either 6 or 8 mm high, they are considerably smaller than Pendraken old line (OTOH authentic 10mm I suppose) and that they get a better "mass" effect. There are 16 Baccus figures in a base and it's impossible to squeeze so much of Pendraken's in the same base.
Thanks to all for your comments :)

so…your point is that you can fit more 6mm figures on a base than you can 10mm?

blacksmith04 Dec 2011 2:43 a.m. PST

I think so.

Thanks for the pictures Javier. I'm considering ancients myself either 6 or 10mm Baccus/Pendraken so that was usefull. Take no notice of the old miserys on TMP, I think you'll find that Dereks personal logo is in fact an actual photograph of him.

No worries Matt, LOL! I'm enough TMP seasoned and just ignore certain comments.
