Hey gang, I need your help. I'm thinking of starting a huge project for the winter and I need some information. I'm thinking of sculpting my own Reaver Titan, crazy I know, but here's my story. I'm an artist and a collector of miniatures; I use to have a really good collection of Armorcast figures for Warhammer 40k, including an Eldar Titan and a few Reavers. I purchased these back in the day when you could get them from Inquisitor magazine by the great Tim Dupertuis. But about seven years ago I was laid off from my job at AT&T and was unemployed for over two years, I quickly lost my unemployment insurance and the only thing I could do was sell off all of my collection just to survive. I stepped away from the gaming after that, but now I have rediscovered my love of gaming and modeling and I've started looking for Titans for my Imperial forces. The problem is I can't afford the prices I'm seeing for those same Titans I sold on Ebay. Most are over $300 to $500 dollars and I can't justify the cost. So since I LOVE the design I'm going to try to use my artistic skills to sculpt and cast my own. The information I am looking for is the actual size of the different components of the resin titan. The measurements for legs, arms, torso, and the head, things like that. Can you help me with this? Thanks! |

Awesome project. I remember back decades(?) ago when those first appeared on the market. A Brit and I were talking about the hobby and those came up. He said, they are great for collectors who want to create a nice show piece, but only Americans would consider gaming with them! Back when the tech bubble was just forming people had the money to lay down cash for those things. A local guy created a Warlord Titan. 2500 points of death dealing fun. It was about 3' tall and very well detailed. He didn't bother with getting it "correct" as much as making sure it looked right. Perhaps with your skill you could create a new interpretation of the Reaver. |

For Inspiration, you will want to look at the Titan Forum at da Gargant Owners Club: link If you still need measurements, let me know- (And If you end up with castable weapons, I'd be interested in a few

SB, I had a Reaver Titan with Missile pod, Chain fist, Turbo Laser Destructor, and spare Power Fist option. I also had the Eldar Revenant Titan. Sold them both along with my Baneblade/Shadowsword because I grew weary of the endless negative attitudes and vocal dissatisfaction, from any opponent I ever tried to field them against. Only models I ever sold that I would have now liked to have not sold. They were very cool and in truth not that powerful in 2ND ED using Inquisitor Magazine rules. Oh well, I have learned from that experience. Don't give up what you like because others don't want to let you play with your toys. :) |
