As we all love a discount store bargain I need to mention that Poundland, in the UK, have a few diecast military vehicles in stock that are suitable for 15mm scifi. I picked up two of these APCs yesterday and repainted one last night. I may very well be getting more of these. There's also a little tank and a cross terrain car, but the tank is a little small and the other a bit too large for 15mm. Here's the APC, with more pics at link

Because I always base my vehicles. Dunno why, I just like to

I like to base my vehicles so they look right in comparison to my infantry like everything in life
it's all personal taste |

Basing them also has the added bonus of stopping toy conversions from rolling around the table
.had some nice military trucks from Poundland, just about the right size for my true 25mm GZG figs

Well spotted. Just napped up four of them. Was also tempted by 4 largish stealth fighters to use as alien fighters of some kind. G. |

I saw the fighters as well. Didn't really give them a proper look. |

The fighters were OK, but a bit too recognisable as what they were. Matchbok does a good atmospheric fighter that I'm keeping an eye out for: link G. |

I got that too. Didnot see the fighter in my pound land. Got some great 15mm scale US big trucks before in pound land. I always have a little look at the toys there. |

They are based on the French VAB armoured car which comes in four and six wheeled version. |

Good job on a good find! Still got a couple of those kicking around – Toys'R'Us sold those a few years back. There were two packs of four vehicles – sand-coloured and green – for £2.99 per pack. The vehicles were an Abrams, M-60, Humvee, jeep, some lorries and a couple of these. As you say, the vehicles were all the same size, so not exactly in scale
Last time I looked, they had replaced them with WWII vehicle packs (with similar scale problems). |

Who makes those 6 wheeled APC's? Those look pretty slick. |

I think I need another 2 or 3, and then I need to get some turret options, possibly from Old Crow. I hope none of you stay near me, as I'd hate to think my local Poundland has been raided for these already. |

For those in the US, I found these at Cracker Barrel, of all places. They are packaged as "Mighty Machines," in a package with jaw-breaker type bubble gum, of all things. There are a few small differences, most noticeably four wheels instead of six. |

I did indeed find the 4 wheel variant at Cracker Barrel. Two bucks for the vehicle and bonus gumballs. Another possibility is Majorette, which sold 6 wheeled versions of the APC, but those don't go cheap. |
