I just received the new Later Crusade range from Crusader Miniatures. The minis look great. Here are some pictures that I took with minis from Curteys Miniatures and Gripping Beast for size comparison. link

Nice. they look like they are all about the same size. Could have some nice variety. I have some of the Curteys and they are quite nice, though they tempt me to upsize my bases to accommodate them. 3 of them aren't going to fit on a WRG standard base |

>>Nice. they look like they are all about the same size.<< Thanks for posting, I have been wondering. Also how many different CM horses are there? I'm getting an impression of two only? Pity if so, three poses minimum can create an impression of realistic variety. Do you have any feeling as yet whether the three lines can be easily swapped, horses and riders?

I did not check the number of different horses. Though I already mixed Curteys and Gripping Beast riders and horses without problem, it is not possible with Crusader ones for the saddle is cast on the horse (which is great for skirmishing) and not half cast on the horse and on the rider ( Curteys/Gripping Beast). @Cheriton: You were right there are only two types of different horses. On 10 horses, I have 7 horses like the left one and 3 like the right one. 5/5 would have been better. Olivier |

SgtPerry: Thanks for taking the time to comment. I wasn't aware of the Curteys saddle being cast on the rider, knew about the GB practice. >>You were right there are only two types of different horses.<< Really can't figure that, just having three would make a lot of difference to appearances. But then remember the dark, misty days of wargaming when whole armies might be mounted on one, and the same, horse?

>>Wouldn't that get a little crowded?<< No, we only could afford one cavalry figure
