Yes, been a big fan of the Jokaero ever since I first read about them in Rogue Trader 25 years ago or so. More scenarios, and at least one more sculpt, preferably unarmed and open-handed, to make conversions easier. (No, I don't think that will happen, which is why I'm happily converting Black Cat Bases Orangutans, the Reaper Orangutango, the Discworld Librarian, and others.) Why do you ask, Bill? Has GW released something new for the Jokaero since the Spring? |

Are they really useful in an actual game though. I started playing 40k in 1989 and we never used them. As a minis collector though I wouldn't mind getting one. |

I think in Rogue Trader terms and for that I could see having a pair at most
but I'm not sure what purpose they'd be put to. |

"Space monkeys with orange fur, who are technical savants
what's not to like!" ^I second this. |

Yes! I want them in 15mm And with that I want Genestealers, genestealer hybrids, Magnus and Patriarch in 15mm as well. Really all that quasi Roleplay stuff from the day in 15mm

Are they useful in game? With no more than 2 in a unit of henchmen, they can be. With +2 to the upgrade result, it means you will never be rolling less than a 3 (natural 1+2) though, so some results are impossible to get even with 1 jokaero in the unit. It does also mean 2 more lascannons, multimeltas or heavy flamers in the unit (which can also have heavy weapon servitors) increasing their firepower. No-one in the unit is relentless, though, so they are a static firepower unit (so needs to be in cover). |

Infojunky, check out the Heroclix Super-Apes Igor, Mikhlo, and Peoter.
Igor would need a tail-ectomy, and Mikhlo is sitting on his big butt, and Peoter is a little large and gorilla-like, but I think any of the three would work as 15mm Jokaero. Mikhlo, for example, is just over 15mm to the top of his head. Oh, and they pop right off their clicky bases. |
infojunky | 06 Dec 2011 12:53 a.m. PST |
Oh I hadn't seen the Igor
. Next time I am someplace that sells single I will have to look
Still want the 'Stealers in 15mm
. though. |

I assume from this that GW have re-imagineered the Jokaero into some sort of subject race for the Imperium. I prefer the old Rogue trader view that it is pointless to capture Jokaero as they will use whatever you give them to make a means to escape. |
jpattern2 | 07 Dec 2011 1:12 p.m. PST |
Not so much a subject race as individuals who are willing to work for other individuals who have earned their trust or otherwise convinced them that an alliance would be good for everyone involved. I, too, prefer the old view, though. |
