Had my fourth mission with my P-51s using Squadron Forward. Scenario suitable for any tactical air combat game. Found at my blog: PlatoonForward.blogspot.com Enjoy Joe |

Sounds like fun. I've noted the same sentiment in other air campaigns people have run, so naming the pilots and tracking their successes/failures is definitely worth exploring. |

Squadron Forward is not out yet, but as I understand it, it will be the air-war equivalent of the ground-war Platoon Forward by the same author. link The TFL product info pretty much sums up what PF does and I assume SF will do the same. Good for solo campaigns, helpful for regular campaigns, a wonderful scenario creation system and great simply for the inspiration. |

Thomas, Your understanding is spot on. We obviously have to look to hire you on for marketing :) DF It is not limited to solo play though that is how I use it. You pick your forces based on the mission given to you. Squadron Forward will generated the opposing forces. Squadron Forward will then generate where everyone sets up on the table. You then use your own tactical rules to play out the scenario. So it is not solo in that you still play out the game using your rules. It is ideal in that when I picked my 6 P-51 as a solo player I did not know that 1, I would lose a plane due to faulty oxygen and 2, we would meet 9 german fighters 3 They would be able to attck across the bomber stream from us. Could anohter player have controled the germans? Absolutley. Did it work well by myself? Yes. Mako11 Good to hear from you. Yes you are correct. In a stand alone game I would have had Thornell follow the ME 110s down and risk the sandwich. Here he is one of 4 pilots with a kill in my squadron! Correct decision? Don't know. But it will be fun to follow over the course of many battles. The rules are done. We are just doing the editing and making them pretty. So now is a great time to ask questions. Just like Platoon Forward, I don't want anyone buying them and then being unhappy. Am proud that I have not heard anything negative about Platoon Forward, want Squadron Forward to be the same! Thanks Joe |

Excellent! My annual fee is one pint, payable in person once we make it to Lard Island on the same day. |
