Hey! I recognize those
The first two are the Starship Troopers Cliff mites and Control bugs respectively. I'd guess you acquired the moulds for them? If so, thank god you did! Cliff mites are IMPOSSIBLE to find on Ebay and even when mongoose was making them, they were almost twice the price you're offering them for. Control bugs are easier to find, but people want stupid amounts of money for them. Not to mention that Mongoose was silly enough to have the Arachnid army list allow up to ten control bugs
but packaged them as eight bugs

How many pieces in the bug castings? Is it body plus a leg casting? Individual legs? |
| Bryan Stroup | 29 Nov 2011 1:37 p.m. PST |
Wolf, I believe those are 15mm figures (granted, with the detail of the 25s from Mongoose!) |
| JRacel | 29 Nov 2011 1:41 p.m. PST |
Well, I can answer a few of the questions. The Mites and Control Bugs are from Mongoose and Rebel Mike bought the molds. They are legit. The Mites are two part castings. The Control bugs and the Worms are single part castings. There are a lot more pictures on my Skydrive, but I can't link it from the office. Hope that helps. Jeff |

Does anyone else think the Death Striders would make nice Geth "leapers" from Mass Effect 1? |

Thanks a lot Chris!!! Jeff |

Guess I was wrong about 15mm. Glad to see some of the molds went to a god one. |

These seem like they'd be of use in Necromunda as well. I could use more space vermin. |

Nice – like the idea of bendy legs and can see a few being based on scenic bases rather than flats. Also congrats to Dan on those worms. Now any one interested in a bulk load of

"The Mites and Control Bugs are from Mongoose and Rebel Mike bought the molds. They are legit." This is great news. I was little despaired when I had heard some time ago ALL of the moulds had been destroyed. This means there may be hope for some of the other Arachnid metals as well perhaps? Not necessarily from Rebel since they're more clearly geared toward 28mm-30mm scale and wouldn't look quite right with 15s except as giant pulp monsters, but one can dream about that mantis bug and infiltrator bug being produced again, right? :D This can also only mean that those two models will be produced to higher standards than their previous owners, which makes me even happier! Also, Jeff, I've never seen anyone do those Cliff mites and control bugs such justice. They're surprisingly detailed and your paint schemes on them is the only one I've ever seen that shows that off. |

Thanks Wolfprophet, I tried to use light colors to show details a little better. Next time I will do the control bugs differently. As to more SST stuff, I think Mike alluded to the fact that these critters were outside the SST IP and therefore were nto something that had to be destroyed. I really doubt anything else, unless there is more that was IP belonging to Mongoose, that will make a return. Just glad that these are once again available. Jeff |

I like these scary looking bugs! I can finally start filling out my 15mm bugs and replacing the not-so-cool, rubber, Halloween proxies. |

Thanks guys! We did get other molds but they are all molds of minis from the line that Mongoose owned the IP on. So no Arachnids or SST Troopers :( Some items we have to change a bit for legal reasons, but I should have more info soon

Thats pretty reasonable. Its just russian roulette with our postal fee system for packages from the US. |
Stratos | 01 Dec 2011 12:46 p.m. PST |
That is awesome that they bought the moulds and found a great use for them. Bummer that the other moulds were destroyed. I wonder if it was an IP thing? I'd love to own some of the moulds for my own purposes. |

That's great, I always thought the Cliff Mites were some of the nicer SST minis. I like your Ripper Worms, too. |
