"Rate Your Resistance" Topic

On a scale of zero (none) to 10 (infinite), how would you rate your resistance to starting a new period or genre?

Not wishing to be difficult, but it would depend on the period or genre.

If there is another player willing to start too? = 0ish
If I am on my own for starting it? = 3ish

Depends on the period really. If I have zero interest it is right there at 10, if I have some interest the level goes up as the deals on the figures get better. If it is a fun game and I play it in a demo, then it goes toward less resistance. If I demo a game/period and it sucks, it goes back toward 10.

Does adding someting new to what I already do count?
Like adding Vichy to FoW, or melding FoW with Junta?

I will never say I am "finished" with adding new periods or genres. I thought so 4 years ago, and then I am suddenly painting British 8th Army 15mm figures and tanks.

About 5. No real interest in starting something new, but would consider it if it meant more playing time.

0. I am always starting new projects and leaving old ones unfinished. If it wasn't for committing to run games at conventions I probably would never finish anything!

For FIW, say, a 8 1/2. For ancient Hittites--tho I find them exciting archaeologically--0.

Depends upon the genre and whether I have any interest in it to begin with.

Over the years my resistance has grown greater, or at least the voices have grown fainter. Maybe 6 or 7.

Oh, wait. Those Bolivian Chaco War figures look cool! I have to go now…

Currently preparing for a Spring Cleaning which will include dropping numerous periods and all sizes (not scales!) except 15mm and 6mm for land battles (and making one exception for 25mm LoTR). On the chopping block are 25mm FIW, 20mm Spanish Civil War, 25mm Cowboys, 20mm World War II, 25mm Misc (SciFi/Pulp/Fantasy)….

Earlier this year 0 now its a 4-6.

4 or 5, much lower if it is a group project.

Probably a 6, I've got far too much stuff already, without the need to add further…but oh temptation, "the only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it."

I rate my resistance in ohms. But for this, -10

Seven to eight. Once the local group actually gets into it (actively playing for more than a month or so) that drops to a three or four.
