Outstanding painting! I'm working on some IJN A6M2 Zero's with the light gray scheme, but was unsure how to proceed with the canopies. I usually go with a light blue canopy off-set by the darker fuselage color for the frames, but the light on light wasn't working. I like the dark canopy base you used with the light color frame and light highlights. I will go that route now -- many thanks! Cheers, Steve |

Those are my planes! I didn't know people were looking at them, I just opened the gallery yesterday. Thanks all :) Bezmozgu7: It's a hard decision with some gray planes. The same with the Wildcats, Dauntlesses and Buffaloes, which use the same blue-gray I use for canopies! The German RLM 02 Grey also poses this problem. If you look at my Me 110's, the birdcage canopy sections that are RLM 02 instead of 71 Green contrast much less. But then again, using a darker grey would not contrast with the dark green! Historicalgamer: Why thank you! Those are my current faves, and I doubt there are modeling subjects that I could do to outshine them in the future. Those bird heads
They have yet to be broken in a game. I highly recommend the beautiful C-in-C B-25J. Great detail and proportions. I drilled holes into the wings and center fuselage to insert a thick wire to support the wing assembly, and it worked perfectly. Epoxied on (and also into the holes) they are very very strong and I doubt they'll break off easily during play. Rolando |
