"What is your favorite unit?" Topic

Of all the figures you have had past and present – what is that special unit that you love to see on the table.

For Napoleon it might have been the Old Guard

For me it is Hardee's Corps in butternut and gray along with their distinctive Blue and Moon flags marked with honors.

WHat is your favorite unit?

Hood's division at Gettysburg. Napoleonic's, any French Cavalry. Punic era Roman cavalry, yes I know they sucked but my favorite underdogs.

Any of the AWI regiments that I first painted, including hand painting the flags.
If I had to narrow it down, it would be the Buffs, and von Bose.

British Paras. Love the uniforms and a history to be proud of.

U.S. Paras and Afrika Korps.

AWI – Hessian Erbprinz Fusiliers/Webb's Additional Continentals.

ACW – 1st Louisiana – Love the stripey flag and the Company of ('Louisiana Tigers') Zouaves.

WW2 – My Panzer III F/G/H Platoon for 1941/42

To many to list, but it's usually something that I'm working on or recently finished. Currently it's my AWI British Converged Light infantry battalion

Can you ever have enough French Cuirassiers on the table?

I also like my Austrian Jagers and Wurttemburg Jagers from the 1809 Campaign and the Pavlov Grenadiers always look good on a table.

My favourite unit?

Either the Ohm, the Fathom or the Furlong, I really can't make my mind up.

My ACW Irish brigade. My FoGR Indian Elephants come in a distant second.

And, of course, my temproary favorites will always be that unit that did unexpectedly well at the last game. Currently the Spanish mounted arquebusiers who held off the elite Finnish cavalry for four critical turns yesterday when in any reasonable world those poor dudes should have been a minor speed bump.

Any 1944/45 British Infantry Battalion with a squadron of Churchills in support.

Legion Etranger (colonials) is my favourite

Followed by Zulu War Brits

After that, the Iron Brigade

Then – French Napoleonic Line Infantry and Cuirassiers

Finally – early Imperial Roman legionaries

Hood's Texas Brigade or Alexander's Argyraspides.
