As regular visitors will have noticed by now, WD3 is still stuck somewhere in a migration limbo. For the duration, some of the usual suspects have been meeting on my newly created Facebook page: link If you are a WD3 member in fear of going cold turkey, feel free to drop in as well. Gung, any ideas when it's coming back? Rich |
Gungnir | 19 Nov 2011 12:55 a.m. PST |
Absolutely not. The provider posted an alarmingly vague message on their site. One can only hope. |

Getting bloody ridiculous now if you ask me. And looking at their own forums there's no official answers to any of the questions asking the same thing. |
Belisarius | 19 Nov 2011 5:05 a.m. PST |
They keep saying we are working on it or soon. Sounds like some one went oops. I know what happens when I oops at work and that is not good |

As even when it is working I never get more than two visits before it makes me log in all over again I can't say it's much different to usual |

So, they lulled us into a false sense of security, by not doing the migration, now they are waffling about when it will be online – looks like a job for the duck to me! Shame that I regard facebook as an instrument of the devil. |
toofatlardies | 19 Nov 2011 8:59 a.m. PST |
Yeah, I can't do Facebook, everytime I go on there they start sending me spam. I shall sit and wait, weeping quietly. Sniff. |

I'm getting withdrawal symptoms. I'm even missing the hobbit. I'm allergic to the whole concept of Facebook so I'm really hoping forumer manage to get the elastic band working again |
hohoho | 19 Nov 2011 11:52 a.m. PST |
I guess they don't work weekends either then! Maybe we should take bets when/if it will be coming back?? |

Same mob "migrated" another wargaming forum I am active on a few weekends ago. Sorry to say they migrated it straight into the bin. When it finally came back up, it was so badly broken and accidently reorganised that we have started from scratch again. I miss WD3 so hope the same is not the outcome here. |
Gungnir | 21 Nov 2011 1:04 a.m. PST |
I certainly hope we won't have to start a WD4, a main reason for not moving to another provider has always been that it was impossible to move the thousands of post. Well, perhaps we could have moved the three that actually made some sense. |
Not here anymore | 21 Nov 2011 2:45 a.m. PST |
Well its still looking grim this morning – though now i'm not sure whether its Forumer-related-incompetence or Duck-related-carnage that is to blame. I feel sad that i missed the three sensible posts and now may never see them at all
.. |
hohoho | 21 Nov 2011 3:20 a.m. PST |
There were three? I think I only ever saw the one. Where were you hiding the other two eh mousie? |
Buff Orpington | 21 Nov 2011 3:33 a.m. PST |
Can they at least save the role playing thread? |
Not here anymore | 21 Nov 2011 3:40 a.m. PST |
but just think how much fun we will have restoring it Buff |
Grizzlymc | 21 Nov 2011 5:31 a.m. PST |
And hijacking the restoration |
Grizzlymc | 21 Nov 2011 5:47 a.m. PST |
Well, its up, slow as a wet week and all the wrong colour – but hey when an IT chap says FIX we all know that it is just that he cant spell past the first letter. |
Belisarius | 21 Nov 2011 5:49 a.m. PST |
I am in to WD3 but it takes for ever to open up and log in and it says I am in but then kicks me out again when I try to go to the chat section. |
Cosmic Reset | 21 Nov 2011 7:00 a.m. PST |
Just checked in there, and it says there is no such forum. Is it being moved, or just more maintaining going on? |
Buff Orpington | 21 Nov 2011 7:06 a.m. PST |
Slower than a slow thing at the moment, needs a new hampster for the treadwheel. |
Gungnir | 21 Nov 2011 7:33 a.m. PST |
Buff, Purple isn't allowed hamsters anymore since that last episode. I think it would be smarter to connect the forum to a dynamo powered by Eccles' bike. |
Not here anymore | 21 Nov 2011 7:50 a.m. PST |
which is perfect because then, of course, we can blame Eccles |
Vintage Wargaming | 21 Nov 2011 8:59 a.m. PST |
Can they at least save the role playing thread? That thread has been single handedly reinforcing stereotypes of wargamers for quite long enough |
hohoho | 22 Nov 2011 3:06 a.m. PST |
And your point is? If you don't like it, don't look at the flaming thing. sheesh. |
Vintage Wargaming | 22 Nov 2011 3:25 a.m. PST |
Perhaps you missed the joke |
Vintage Wargaming | 22 Nov 2011 3:25 a.m. PST |
