Ummmmmm
..clearly I don't know as much about the campaign in the western desert as I thought I did. So if I'm now to understand it the russians sent a regiment of JS-2 to north africa to take part in a battle that started a week before Operation Barbarossa. People who reckon Stalin was caught by suprise by the June 22nd invasion of the Soviet Union must be seriously reconsidering their opinions right now. |

It gets better if you look at the main page for the range - link Pretty sure the Hummel wasn't around in 1938 link Where abouts is the CDL fitting on this one? Also the Royal Australian Army appears to be a new title! Still, the little tanks look nice, even the 1939 Crusader link Gary |

You know how the Brits are always whingeing about the weather. |

We usually have plenty of weather to whinge about, although not at the moment:). |

Pants-filling moment, as you watch 5cm bounce off the glacis. IS2s are bad enough in late war when you have PAK43s

Perhaps the retailer is smarter that us all and is reveling in the "word of mouth" advertising his spurious notes generate. But then again, I'm a cynic. |

I think that he has missed the electric blue panels if that was his intended effect. |

Pants-filling moment, as you watch 5cm bounce off the glacis. Even more so when the turret starts to rotate, and the crew of that 5 cm gun realises that there is going to be some 122 mm fun coming in their direction very soon

I can just see someone fielding this in a 1941 North Africa game and pointing to that ad as a "highly reliable source." |

Not surprising, since they did successfully win WWII almost single-handedly, back at the end of 1944. It just took awhile for the news to get out, due to misinformation and propaganda by the West, which is what started the Cold War. The Allied bombing campaign on Berlin (incorrectly billed as the Berlin Airlift), after Germany surrendered, was finally stopped by the Soviet Union, only after they invented the Mig-15 "People's Fighter". |

I bought 16, enough for an entire Armoured Squadron in my 7th Desert Rats "Caucausus Brigade". Thier motorized infantry were provided by the Carpathian Brigade, as the Poles and Soviets were famously comrades in arms. Still, they are unreliable and have "no HE" so can only devestate armored targets with their gun, but "Tally-Ho" makes them pretty useful. |

Good find – nice models for the money. Although they have their history clearly wrong. It was the lead Division of the Soviet 8th Shock Army that whilst bursting through Poland in '44, took out the German 'Die Glocke' secret wunderwaffe installation, throwing them back in time to the Western desert in '41. Some of the German infantry defending that same installation where hurled forward in time to end up in Afghanistan to go 1 on 1 with modern US soldiers it seems : (There was a thread here the other day about that exact same scenario, but I cant find it now) The 29th Guards, Im pretty sure, were sent to Neu-Schwabenland in Antarctica to fight the Hannebu. |
