Got the print in today. It is … SO COOL! It cost a fortune but I'm glad I made the investment. It's for one of those Götterdämmerung scenarios when the Army just wants to crush the enemy into the dirt! grin

It's definitely bigger then the Siler, but not hugely bigger.

Sounds great Jon. Can you please toss a mini or two in the pictures for scale?

Too late, model is already on its way to be cast. I took the pictures Thursday night.

Any signs that it might be available soon ? Thanks , Steve.
Really looking forward to this one !!

khurasanminiatures15 Apr 2012 6:01 a.m. PST

Should have been out already, but I wasn't happy with the castings I received from the caster, so I'm having new castings made. Hopefully it will be within about a month or so.

What happens with the ones you are not happy with?
Do you have to eat the cost? What about selling a few at discount so we can make battle damaged or destroyed ones for scenery? I'd love a wrecked one as a base for another model to stand, walk or drive over.

steve atkinson15 Apr 2012 8:34 a.m. PST

I agree with LordNth , it would be very useful .

If you're worried about the sales of the 'B-quality' castings eating into your sales, you could offer them as a package deal with the good castings (assuming you still have the rejected castings).

Buy a combat ready XM-6 for $##, then get a wreck for 1/2 price or whatever.

khurasanminiatures07 Jul 2012 1:41 p.m. PST

Update: got the first casting of the XM-6 and it's stunning. I have not cleaned this one up at all.

Not sure when I'll have this TL15 monster up for sale but it's in the final approaches!

So, what about the APC/Drone carrier cousin?

Eclipsing Binaries07 Jul 2012 2:00 p.m. PST

Is that a tiny dog or a great big tank and hand?

khurasanminiatures07 Jul 2012 2:09 p.m. PST

Both! grin

khurasanminiatures07 Jul 2012 2:12 p.m. PST

Lion, designer has just been tapped to make the Felid Stalker Heavy Transport, then there are a few other things to make. We will get to it.

Lion in the Stars07 Jul 2012 6:28 p.m. PST

I know I'm being … odd, but I'm actually more interested in the grav-carrier than I am in the tank!

And it's OK that the grav-carrier will take some time, my wallet needs to recover from the last purchase (involving a DPLS, a Colonial Marine platoon, and waaaaay too many Space Demons)!

khurasanminiatures07 Jul 2012 6:40 p.m. PST

Fact is, the grav carrier is basically going to be a turretless version of the tank, with big side doors for the drones to come out of. Then need to make the drones themselves, but they will be smallish and fairly simple.

Nothing odd about knowing what you like IMO.

steve atkinson08 Jul 2012 3:29 a.m. PST

Sorry Jon , missed this post ,really really good !!!
when your ready ! Steve .

minigamermike08 Jul 2012 9:55 a.m. PST

Jon, so incredibly cool.
Where do you get all of your figure and vehicle ideas from?
And what are you doing to develop such a rich background and story for all of the varied and exotic things?
It seems like you have some source book your are working from…

I love the quality of the designs and castings. I am not a big fan of grav tanks but that will not stop me from including these in my purchase plans.

Also, I did not understand why everyone seemed to be going on about how big your tanks are until I purchased some 15mm WWII stuff.

Keep up the good work!

khurasanminiatures08 Jul 2012 10:27 a.m. PST

Well, Mike, this one especially is supposed to be enormous, because it's a true grav tank and so mass isn't all that important. As a result it can have huge amounts of armour and weaponry.

My other tanks are basically going along the continuum of tank development. Of course the future is largely conjectural, but as I see it, if you put a BT7, a T-34/85, and a T-72 next to each other sequentually, and have a few blank spots after that, then you have the Red Banner, which is much larger than the T-72, just as the T-72 is much larger than the BT7. Or Stuart, Sherman, M48, M1A2 ….

Of course it's all conjecture, and the size increases may very well reverse themselves in the future, but I like the idea of the steady progression. There are lots of tank sizes out there now in 15mm SF, so offering choices is not a bad thing IMO.

steve atkinson08 Jul 2012 11:21 a.m. PST

Jon , have you ever read the Ian M Banks books about the Culture and their use of soldier drones ? Whilst far more hi-tech the Grav carrier sounds like its inception .
