Not sure how many saw this, but it was a pretty decent program, and fairly entertaining to watch: TMP link Looks like it will be a regular series on for a bit, on Tuesday nights, on the National Geographic Channel. Lots of great lance breaking, heavy blows, and guys being knocked off of their horses. Now, we just need a decent set of miniatures rules, or a strategy game to go with it. Closest I've seen is in the old Chainmail rules set, which is diceless. Other rules I've glanced at don't seem to measure up, so any suggestions for a good set that has at least some strategy element in it would be appreciated, instead of the ones just based upon the luck of the die roll. |

We watched it and thought it was pretty interesting. My daughters kept asking what were the names of the horses. lol |

It's something of a silly stunt. Soon, people participating in this activity will start hitting each other with folding chairs. -Kle. |

Didn't like it. Main dude looks like he's on steroids. Some issues felt fake. Jousting became boring after about 3rd time they jousted in one minute. Or, this could be just "reality" show format

I totally agree with Igor – just like another "reality" show. It's like obligatory to include conflict between the key characters. Much better if they covered the shindig at Viborg Castle YouTube link . Dean |

I agree a bit of it did seem to be scripted, or overly choreographed, despite what they said, especially Charlie's miraculous comebacks after the Black Night was so far ahead. Still, quite entertaining. Those guys are really getting hit with a lot of impact, when the other guy is coming at a full gallop. The speed with which they get knocked off their horses, and hit the ground is amazing. I kept saying to myself, that's gotta hurt. I'd think they'd want to get rid of the outer posts and ropes too, since someone is bound to land on top of one of those eventually, causing major injury. If I was doing it, I think I'd want unbreakable, clear plastic inside my visor slits for protection, since I can see how easily a splinter could get lodged in it, given how the lances tend to explodew with a good hit. More than a few people have died from that in the past. I hope they'll eventually add in foot combat as well, since that would no doubt be fun to watch too. |

That is rather an unsporting suggestion, and has been outlawed by the Vatican, if I recall correctly
