Wow! Aside from the Brasilian plates, he has quite a collection of plates covering the SYW, many of which I have not seen; Austrian Frei Corps, Dutch Artillery to name a few.

Thanks for the link.
Cheers,

Great looking plates but my knowledge of Portugese is almost zero ;)

Great stuff. I wonder if there is anything available for the Farrapos War and the war with Rosas. I'm guessing the uniforms were less formal than are shown here. Both would be interesting to game.

John,

Brazilian troops wore the regulation uniforms in 1852 against Rosas. They wore the campaign dress/uniform during the campaign, not the full or parade dress.

During the victory parade in Buenos Aires, Brazilian troops (all professional soldiers) wore their best uniforms for the occasion.

No Armand, thank you for sharing many interesting links with us. :-)

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP08 Nov 2011 2:46 p.m. PST

Oh!. Your troops had waited until the day of the battle of Ituzaingó to parade on our Capital City.
Of course, au contraire, our troops would made the same move. (smile).

Had you read the joint ventures between our two Armies?

Not sure I understand your question, Armand. Can you rephrase it?

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP08 Nov 2011 9:18 p.m. PST

There are recently military agreements between our countries.
I had an uncle in the Foreign Service who told me about them.
I cannot put them in here, but I ask you if you had hear about them.

No… I haven't heard anything, Armand. Our countries could team up to produce our own military equipment instead of buying for astronomical sums of money from European or US companies.

Brazil and Fiat's IVECO are jointly developing a new APC (armored personnel carrier) for the Brazilian army.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VBTP-MR

The "Guarani" will be developed and manufactured at IVECO LA' Sete Lagoas plant in Minas Gerais (Brazil). The plant will produce 2,060 units of the new APC.

It seems that on 2012 began the joint military manuevers in land, air and sea about common defense of our countries.
It would finished with a common national defense Army by 2020.

"It would finished with a common national defense Army by 2020."

Are you sure about that, Armand?

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP21 Dec 2011 10:45 a.m. PST

Well, that's the intention and the "secret" papers that are signed actually with the Mercosur meeting.
Very interesting the plans for the Navy.
But unfortunally I cannot said the details.

Pay atention for the next future plans of your government about the Navy (smile).

The submarines ones had begun some time ago.
