"What, no female characters to choose from?" Sorry Elaine
not in a prejudicial or bias frame of thinking
but the majority of gamers are guys and guys that portray women in RPGs freak me right out, so I did leave the female options out
but there are many good ones out there. I am a big fan of women, my favorite opposite sex actually. Seriously, I just left it men to avoid the extra weirdness. ***** I will take a shot in the dark and offer this one, maybe I will get it right the first shot :) The Connor

As for me
I could be happy with just about any of them. But I recently worked out a short narrative in a post apoc setting with the protagonist being a human mutant, longevity
ages 1 day per week
so The Kid above is what I was thinking when I grabbed that pic. A creepy kid who has old eyes, a mean streak, and in general carries himself as if he was an old war veteran.
The Kid character has the longevity mutation
he looks 10-11yrs old but has been around for 85yrs. The longevity mutation also provides a heightened healing factor, heightened metabolism, exceptional resistance to poisons/radiation, and he never sleeps
rests, but does not need to sleep. He has a high endurance (run for days), a bright mind, and a voracious appetite for knowledge
that is what he deals in, information. He has worked as an educator, a trainer, and a trader. So he may be a bit weaker of limb but he has vast education and a skill set to envy. He tends to avoid using guns but has no problem using poisons, toxins, and chemicals to end fights quickly. He always has a few homemade smoke grenades (bitter tear gas), a frag grenade or two, and a couple flash grenades on hand at all times. An excellent chef, he is constantly seeking perfect flavors and recipes. |

@28mmMan: something like that. Give him a staff covered in trophies or spirit totem bits topped with a skull and it's looking good. Make it female just to tweak your sensibilites, and it's perfect >:-) As an aside, I play female characters in RPGs because more than half my fellow players are gay, and it just avoids a lot of headache for all of us

The Vaulter, or more correctly right now the Crash Test Clone assigned to Troubleshooting duty
I have my Lasgun, my reinforced coveralls, boots, implant computer, canteen, multitool and contradictory instructions from the assignment computer and a yen to do good things
I have had a good basic education for my life in the testing facility. Meaning I have a clue of how to use my tools and a high school education. Clean a washroom, fix a leak etc
. etc

I always gravitate to the same role no matter the game. I stay below the radar and offer products or services people need. I'd probably be the collector. If I don't have what you need, I'll track it down. |

" lol, I am all for you playing what you want
whatever
I tend to avoid the guys playing girls thing, but if you like it then by all means :) Really the only issue is that guys tend to play women as loose, sex-for-hire, or barbies
but again, if it floats your boat :) ***** The Walker
***** The Colonel
***** The Storyteller
(seems a bit frail for an RPG, perhaps he is a master actor/disguise and puts forth an old man persona to establish a connection but is much younger?) (ooohoooh or he is a mutant, an empathic shape shifter, he can alter his basic form, staying human, but his skin/eyes/hair/etc. slowly shift to become the look that the listener would see as safe and grandfatherly?) This is his natural look

Love the Kamandi cover with Klik-Klak, his giant insect mount/puppydog. Good find. My full run of first edition Kamandis is one of my treasures. I also saw "A Boy and His Dog" in the theater several times, after having read Ellison's short story, and bought it on VHS and later DVD, as well as Richard Corben's graphic adaptation. The story obviously speaks to me on some level. I'd still be some kind of low-level scribe or storyteller, though, if I wasn't already dust in the post-apocalyptic wind. |
28mmMan | 11 Nov 2011 9:44 p.m. PST |
Yeah I see people considering the concept a bit deeper than I suggested :) Not what character would you be per say but what character would you like to play in a game lol. ***** A low level scribe
sounds suspect to me
perhaps hiding a different more sinister
an assassin perhaps? Hmmmm |
