The Grand Duchy of Nordmark (includes a synopsis of its history from 1095 AD through to 1809 AD) here: link Note: The history solves at least a couple of controversies – why did Bernadotte and his 1st Corp never make it to either the fields of Jena or Auerstadt on the fateful morning of October 14th 1806!? Why did it take so long for Rosenburg's 4th & 5th Columns to hit the French right flank at Aspern-Essling – May 21st – 22nd 1809? Also why did the Archduke John and the Army of Inner Austria never arrive at Wagram on the morning of July 6th 1809. |

@ Eli: Alcovia (18th C.) is on the list in its alphabetic place since I follow "The Dream of the Sleeping Wolf"! ('Fict:' without mention of the century is the "default" for 18 th C. Imagi-Nations). @ Frederick:
Now that I am starting an ImagiNation I need to start one of these blog things! Of course! No better support to share such a project! Looking forward for the link! |

Mike: gorgeous uniforms – the 'blood and gold' colors are reminding of the traditional heraldry of Provence, Occitania and Spain link : maybe after evacuating the Kingdom of Jerusalem a bunch of ' Occitan' knights and their retinues settled in what was to become Drakland (their leader's shield bore a red dragon on a gold field)? |

Der Alte Fritz | 02 Feb 2012 2:46 p.m. PST |
Perhaps one of the longer running and bloodiest wars is that of Gallia (France) and Germania (Prussia) and their allies, Sachsen Raschtein vs. Hesse Seewald as depicted in the Campaigns in Germania blog: link
I also comment on these battles on my own Der Alte Fritz Journal: altefritz.blogspot.com I tend to cover a variety of Horse & Musket era historical periods such as the SYW, AWI, Napoleonic Wars, and ACW, although I'm admittedly more focused on the SYW. Germania or Hesse Seewald are just covers for my actual Prussian armies while Bill P.'s Gallian army is actual a French army. We both enjoy the imaginations concept, but neither of us is interested in creating fictional armies with fictional uniforms. So we use French/Austrian and Prussian/British armies and give them a different name. One reason for this approach is to eliminate national characteristics and allow the armies to develop their own personalities on the Field of Mars. |
abdul666lw | 02 Feb 2012 3:20 p.m. PST |
DAF, don't be shy, even diehard 'historicals' such as yourself and Bill Protz succumbed to the 'imaginative' temptation: your Not-SYW between Not-France and not-Prussia is paralleled by the 'underground' struggle between these two master spies, Lady Pettygree (now with very unhistorical Hussarettes) and Milady de Winter with her Black Legion |

Why do people seem to prefer blogs to normal websites for their Imaginations? Looking at the problems people have been having with blogs I am curious. |
abdul666lw | 04 Feb 2012 2:43 a.m. PST |
Blogs are excessively simple to create, free, reader friendly, require no maintenance, allow easy exchanges through comments

DAF, I have had a lot of fun with adding a mainly Imagi-Nation Reichsarmee contingent to my historical French army, (see here link ) I don't know if its possible with Prussians but I plan on ding the same with my Hanoverian/Allied that I'm building. |
