These have been very interesting to read – I have only seen one set of HOTT games and the family of rule sets has always pulled me to them but been repelled by the 'correct' English.

Do you find that most games are 'line up and charge' or do you get time to move around the boards?

The language of the rules is off-putting, which is why many people use the WADBAG Guide:

HOTT is much better written, but it's still something more easily picked up from someone who's played. A large part of the skill in the game comes from manoeuvring, though even a line-them-up game can result in a lot of interesting post-contact reaction options.
