I'm planning to make a Ramos-themed Supply Wagon objective counter for Malifaux. My idea was to take a 19th century New York city pushcart, and instead of a human vendor, have a humanoid automaton pushing it. The cart can be made from balsa wood with wheels from a craft store, but would any one have ideas for a suitable VSF automaton? It does have to be small enough to fit on a circular 50mm base.

(Also, I don't suppose there are any Wizard of Oz Tin Man minis in 28mm out there. It would add a touch of whimsy to the counter.)

An alternate thought was to use spider legs instead of wheels for the cart (as Ramos makes most of his automatons in spider form). Are there 25-28mm Steampunk spider legs available as parts? I won't buy a $15 mini from Wyrd (the maker of Malifaux) just to cut it up for parts!

Try the old GURPS steampunk box set (on ebay) – couple of nice generic automatons in there.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

@28mm Man: The Tin Man is great! Now to see if they will sell him outside of the boxed set. If not, Jeeves is my current 2nd choice. However, I have not yet seen the other suggestions.

Edit: We have a winner! Ironcladman from Ironclad Miniatures.

So far, I like the look of their VSF characters, and will see if their other lines are of similar merit.

Steam Automatons from Ironclad.I'm hoping there aren't any missing bits like my last order :( I love their products but the Customer Service/Communication needs looking at.To be fair it could be that they are very busy?

You know, a year ago I had a missing bit from one mof my Ironclad tanks: the turret!

However, they were great about sending me one as soon as I let them know about it. So, people make mistakes, but Ironclad took care of it the way they should have.

I need to buy more from them.

Well your lucky I'm still waiting my missing bit :(
