I saw these again from another post, reminding me how much I liked the work that was done…so I felt I should stat a new post to make sure that anyone interested in such would see the goodness. This set is done to fit within a 15mm game but the same process could be easily applied to another scale/size

I really appreciate the omni-directional function of the tiles…the same handful of tiles turned create a new profile each time…great stuff.

Smart using cheap floor tiles is a good plan…they often come up on sale. Most days a 12"x12" tile is less than a $1. Mongo used 6"x6" tiles. A fun option would be to mi and match 6" with the 12"…as the 12" would allow for larger structure pieces.

Anyway…good on you Mongo…any updates? More tiles?

Alas, last I heard, Mongo was getting out of 15mm. :(

But you are right. He definitely had the right idea.

Tons of ash, charred rubble and wreckage are a must:

Yes, he was the gentleman who donated a large 15mm collection to be auctioned off for Toys For Tots. His set-up sold for a staggering $1 USD,200.00 Rather brilliant of him.

Very good work, but far too much grey for my liking. I just can't see even a nuclear bomb blackening everything quite so much. Still, they are very inspirational pictures and give me something to aim for.

I like the tons of rubble – my ruined buildings don't look ruined enough right now, I need to "rubble them up"

The same tiles with a few weeds would really pop.
