I'm very pleased to preview something for fantasy gamers when I've been sneak-peeking so many sci fi models lately!

This is one of the upcoming models for our "Great Enemy" line, a sort of classical period for the fantasy realms we are all most familiar with, the epic struggles that happened thousands of years before ….

He is the Golden Deceiver, a wily worm who not only can incinerate entire units with his white-hot flame-breath but can command legions of Orcs and outwit the enemy in doing so.  He is about 125mm (5") long and is a one-piece resin sculpt.

When the website returns in full, the Golden Deceiver will as well, and many other new codes for the Great Enemy too.

Whilst he is intended for 15mm scale gaming, he'd be quite threatening in your 28mm games too, and smaller than 15mm scale? E gad!

The model was painted by Michael Genet, thanks Michael!

Oh man, perfect! I love it (him, her?). I hoped that your fantasy line would see some new stuff and here it is.

Needs a howdah.

There's lots more where that came from Will! grin

JON THAT IS AMAZING! (yes all caps)

If you end up giving 15mm fantasy the same boost you did 15mm science fiction, you will likely end with a statue of you somewhere.

Seriously, thanks for bothering to make fantasy figs.

I'm pretty sure he is really iron oxide in color and lives on Mars. Silly Victorian Brits are in for a surprise. I can also see Hill Martians on its back.

The face is really cool

BRILLIANT figure, and I really like the sound of "a sort of classical period for the fantasy realms we are all most familiar with, the epic struggles that happened thousands of years before". It reconnects with one of the aspects of Tolkienesque fantasy that really gave me goosebumps when I first began exploring the genre as a kid, and which I've kind of lost sight of nowadays.

Fantastic figure!

Eli Arndt31 Oct 2011 5:20 p.m. PST

It's a special kind of fantasy that you can really believe in. Not too over the top.

Mooseworks831 Oct 2011 5:48 p.m. PST

Nice model.

Jojojimmyjohn31 Oct 2011 9:24 p.m. PST

YAWP!!! That is one awesome lizard. Time to cash out the kids' college funds.

tchristney31 Oct 2011 10:49 p.m. PST

Glaurung! Awesome!

Lion in the Stars01 Nov 2011 3:06 a.m. PST

And how big is the overgrown lizard? 5" long, and about 1" tall? Oh, I can see at least two of those in my future.

Oh, my… Jon, can you hear my wallet whimpering in the corner? It's begging you for mercy!

wminsing01 Nov 2011 5:43 a.m. PST

There's lots more where that came from Will! grin

Excellent! Can't wait to see more. I think an army worthy of pre-Mordor is in my future. :)

Now that is a worm. I need one of those for my dwarfs to beat on.

-1 at river crossings.

Dunadan10 Nov 2011 10:54 a.m. PST

It's Glaurung!!
Turin Turambar in 15mm; any ideas?

Logain10 Nov 2011 10:49 p.m. PST

I am planning to use Splinter Light figures against "the Great Enemy" line when the Khurasan store re-opens. I think SL's dark age men, dwarfs and wood elves fit the time period pretty well.

Cilidar13 Nov 2011 2:23 p.m. PST

Would look awesome as a center piece for either a lizardman or Dark Elf army!

Speaking of which, any idea when you'll have your lizard men and their amphibious cousins back on your site, Khurasan? I've been dying to order some more sci-fi stuff but I wanted to wait till I could get my hands on them as well ;)

Jojojimmyjohn24 Dec 2011 3:57 p.m. PST

Any idea on when the Gold Deceiver and his minions will be hitting the newly restored webstore?

Alex Reed24 Dec 2011 6:08 p.m. PST

Hey! He looks a LOT like John Howe's Glaurung.

What's this "Great Enemy" line???

Jojojimmyjohn18 Nov 2012 9:25 p.m. PST

What ever happened to the Gold Deceiver? Inquiring orcs want to know….:^)
