Not the video game but a miniature game based on the film. A post modern day game of dragons vs Post-apocalyptic game of fighting modern warfare against fire breathing dragons? I saw the movie twice in the past few nights. Saw it once before but thought the idea was interesting and would make a fantastic game. I do not think I ever saw a game based on this movie. Nope, it caused my wife to go into labour due to being soo bad. Having said that she was late, so maybe it was not all bad! |

I'll second the Shadowrun games we played in HS. but that was years before the movie came out. |

Any movie where a .50 cal can't kill a living creature is crap. How can you not kill a thing the size of an elephant. |

Yep, it was a thought experiment. The interceptors and air superiority fighters won. |

I toyed with idea a few years back. I even went so far as to pick up a few of the Todd McFarlane "dragons" toy line, a few of which were dead ringers for the dragons from the movie. They even include 6 inch flight stands. But alas, while I have the moderns and post apoc figs and vehicles AND the dragons, I never got around to doing up a set of rules |

Somewhere, maybe it was Dragon Magazine, I remember a picture of an F-14 firing missiles at a dragon. |

Sorry, it was an F-15 with a green dragon. Larry Elmore painting

With RIFTS this sort of game is 100% doable
make the dragons mega damage monsters
basically for those who have not played the game, certain characters/creatures/things have their very structures represented in various grades of resilience with some getting close to invulnerable
especially to mundane weapons. A 50cal for example could/would do damage to a mega damage creature
but the ratio would be reduced
depending on the GM, most of us have house rules but the general rule is 10 or 20 normal damage to 1 mega damage
and a small dragon may have 50, 75, 100+ mega damage
so it would take a bunch. Small arms fire would have little to no chance at all. Explosives would do mega damage for example. Enough dynamite to evaporate a human would most likely kill a dragon
most likely. ***** I would play. I would like to see a bit a change to the movie though
rifts that the dragon pour from rather then sleeping in caves for millions of years
lots of sizes from cat sized to blue whale size
extra dimensional creatures (magic universe perhaps)

This shows power armored guys
I suspect everyone would want the power armor situation
but where there is power armor there is Coalition
be careful you don't get more than you ask for

Saw the movie once. It was okay. But have never gamed it. Doesn't really say "Game me! Game me!" to me. |

@28mmMan, They're using skullz(TM)! Better hope GW doesn't sue them for breach of copyright

hey, the Van Zandt figure from Infinity is obviously a dead ringer. Axe and all. |
