At work, recently, I had need of a tube of RTV silicone glue. The fellow I got it from, filled a 6 mL syringe, sans needle, with some. I have to say, it issued a small bead of RTV, which was perfect for my needs. It occurred to me that this approach could work for many types of glue. Syringes are available from various suppliers, but I would start with your local Rx store. The 6 mL syringe had a molded, plastic tip, which issued the RTV in a roughly 2mm diameter bead. It gave me fantastic control over the amount, and area, it was applied to. For making terrain pieces, this would provide superb control over the glue, allowing me to even use RTV, where before I would have used anything but RTV! It should work with most glues, however I would be more cautious with liquid glues, as they may tend to drip, and run out of the syringe more than thicker, more viscous glues. It is likely more useful for terrain-making, than figure assembling, but experimentation will prove where it is most helpful. Cheers! |

Yes, We use them at work for both RTV silicone, glues and resins. Really great applications. |

I have used syringes for applying putty. Had a resin model full of air bubbles and was having problems with getting putty into the holes. The syringe worked like a charm. It's a one use item of course. |
