On Friday October 21st fourteen players descend upon the Wargames Holiday Centre, now relocated to sunny Basingstoke, for a Russian vs. French Battle of Borodino rematch using General de Brigade rules.
For a full AAR see the link – on the GeneraldeBrigade.com site. link
All in all a great couple of days gaming with the battle following its historical counter-part almost blow for blow! Many thanks to Mark Freeth of the Wargames Holiday Centre for running the first General de Brigade game, a great success all round! DB |

I've always loved to see those Peter Gilder figures on Miniature Wargames when I was a teen. |

Are these "private" games for those in the know or are they open to all to apply for a space? |

Marc, Open to all mate! I believe there are four more dates for GdeB games in 2012. DB |

I once overheard a group of young natives talking about Basingstoke, the best quote was from one girl who said "Basingstoke's but you really miss it when you're in prison". |

I took part in a Borodino game at Scarborough, about 25 years ago. It was great! Presumably all the same figures and terrain as this one, but Peter Gilder's rules of course. |

Further to this Mark has uploaded the battle onto YouTube – Five Parts in all! YouTube link DB |

I enjoyed the youtube tour but I think there is room for a more comprehensive approach to reporting one of these large team games. If not blow by blow but at least crucial moment by crucial moment. Hope some oen gives it a go in the future. |
