Hi.
What color would the uniform of the Irish Legions musician be? Would it be reversed colors or standard green uniform.

Do you mean the legion/regiment Irlandais?

Standard French cut uniform, but in green.

Connard great plate.

I know you are right about the green for Legion troops. Some of the older examples in books had them in a lighter green. Thanks for a more up to date example.

For some reason I thought most drummers wore Imperial green even in French Regular Infantry units but it has been a long time since I researched napoleonics to paint.

Rudy. Some regiments drummers did (this is 1815 of course, post Restoration)

others didn't

and, per my previous link, in 1813 the regiment Irlandais drummers adopted Imperial livery

Cheers for the link.

From reading Napoleons Light Infantry, musicians were meant to be wearing imperial green from 1812 but this was uncommon. I didn't know if that applied for foreign units as well!

there is a good memoire about this regiment – even in English -

Mempoires of Miles Byrne, Paris / New York 1863

you can downlaod it from google books
