Hey everyone, I updated the blog with a quick one turn AAR. Introducing! Disposable Heroes Point Blank! This is a short AAR of a one turn game to introduce the rules to players. Germans vs French 1940. This shows off a little of how the rules work and what the system is capable of. link We are still hoping for a Fall In release, but a lot depends on the coming week and how fast the printing goes. If not Fall In, then very shortly after. We will post the preorder as soon as it is ready. Enjoy! |

Nice. This is on my to buy list. We like DH and this looks like a fun game. Is Iron Ivan ever going to do a SciFi or Near Future version of DH? |

Hey Doug! I saw you, or someone with the player name Doug Redshirt (IIRC) playing Red Orchestra the other night. It was on the TWB server I think. How are you liking the new version? |

Meh so far. I can only play on the servers that dont have Punkbuster, otherwise I get kicked for a speed hack. I think the pace of the game has increased too much toward the Call of Duty run and gun. It is a little better now that they reset everyone and we dont have everyone carring an assualt rifle or smg. Thought I was playing a game set in Nam for awhile. To be honest I am unsure what I think so far. I mean I had the choice the other night of playing or painting up some tanks and did the tanks. Usually a good computer game gets under my skin and I play as much as I can. This is just sort of uhh. I hope you didnt get too many easy kills on me. In these types of games I feel like a redshirt on star trek in the opening 5 minutes. Actually as a child my biggest goal in life was to play a redshirt actor on Star Trek. I mean what could be easier, then walking over to stage left and saying "I see something over
." and then getting shot, stabbed, or disintegrated. I figured you could make a career out of being killed weekly. |

I'm kind of meh so far as well. I really don't like the whole progression element. It's too COD, like you said. I hope they allow servers to turn that off and do realism only servers (no kill cam, no map HUD, things like that) for those of us that want a more realism based experience. I'm kind of the same way. I am not really enthused to play much. I hop on every once in a while. I don't think I got any easy kills on you, haha. My screen name is Pizzagrenadier. If you see any realism servers come up that turns off the progression, let me know. Until then, I think I am just going to be waiting for Skyrim (Oblivion V). Keith |

To be honest the only thing that makes me come back is trying to get a 200 meter kill. Then found out the anti tank rifle doesn't count. Almost got it the other day, but the guy was at 199 meters. Kept thinking why didn't he step back 1 meter. Oh had my best kill the other day. Got someone at 123 and it pops up with another name right after the first one. Killed two people with one bullet. Never even saw the second person behind him. Its moments like that that make me come back. |

Ha! Cool, I never really thought about trying to get those long range shots. I spend most of my time trying to get MGs in good positions and hold them for as long as I can. Like trying to shut down areas or deny them to the enemy or to support when we are trying to cap a new area. I have noticed that MGs don't nearly play the role in the new RO that they used to. Its all run and gun now. Kind of sucks to spend so much time to make MGs more useable and realistic if they aren't going to even be a part of the tactics of the game. |

Started taking the mg as Russian on the apartments map and clearing the buildings on the right of the map. Amazing how quickly a mg makes taking a building. The key with the mg is to have your flank secure, so you only have to cover and control a small area. It is not designed to cover much of an arc. Got kicked from one map after completely controlling one third of a map. Guess an admin didn't like it. |

It is a good room clearing tool isn't it? I have been getting better with it at area denial the past few days. I found the same thing, secure a flank and limit your area of coverage to a small view where an enemy has to cross. I like the DP better than the MG-34. The sight on the MG-34 takes up too much of your view and recoil seems less controllable with the higher ROF. The DP just works better for me, though I probably just need practice on the 34. I bet clan matches would be more fun than pub play, but I don't have time to get into that
