Tried posting this here a little earlier, but it seems to have got mixed up with someone elses post heading about a book. So just thought I would say that due to myself getting into Art in a very big way as a way of making a humble living from next year, my blog will be coming down towards the end of this year link Looking forward to using my hands to make surreal sculptures and wacky arty farty stuff, rather than Roman forts. Thanks to all who have stumbled on my sites over the years, but moving on now. Cheers Paul |

Good luck with the new enterprise, but shame you are leaving this 'world'. I always liked your work and the books are treasured possessions. All the best. |

A real pity to loose such an adornment to the hobby. Best wishes for the future. BTW, where can we see your artwork? |

Just leave the blog up as a reference site and if you ever come back to the hobby making Roman forts then it will be waiting and ready. You could also bung up your art stuff on it..why not?? Cheers paul |

Yes, Paul, surely no need to bring it down? Would take a long time to put it up again, later! Simon |

Paul, Add me to the list of those urging you to leave your blog up for reference, or just eye candy for inspiration. Respects, |

Its a blogger blog. No need to take it down, just leave it up, won't cost you anything to do so. Cheers Jaz 6sided.net – like blogger but for wargaming blogs |

Supported. A blog such as yours is not of the 'futile diary' kind, but a precious library: please don't close it to the public! |

Paul has retired from making models more times than Sinatra gave up singing. Its a marketing tool. It aint gonna happen. |

Thanks Guys, Mick, if you want to put $5 USD,0 on it, I'm up for that. Your right I have a few times now sought something else to put my efforts into, but never quite found anything suitable to put my creative efforts into. I know a lot of people and friends within the hobby so have drifted back to it. However the difference now is I'm now associated with an art gallery and in an art studio with fellow artists. This was done so I take that leap in moving away from model making and get into art. I like to think I turn my hand to quite a number of art styles, including sculptures, photography and painting, but that's up to others to judge. So its not a Marketing tool, but fact and the first art exhibition is planned for April next year and I'm already making some radical installations for it. Making a living from art will be hard work, so throwing myself into that 100%, so wargamaing blogs and playing with toy soldiers has to go. So the blog will come down as I want a fresh start and as it details there, I'm still doing a couple of demo games next year, I may sell a few models on ebay from time to time, write the odd artile and look to producing some wargaming animation at some point, but will no longer be taking on commissions, or selling models on a regular basis for a living. Sorry for being creative, but that's how it is for me. Hope that helps and just in case anyone is confused, I can't sing for toffee. Cheers Paul |

I think the barn Paul has put up on his blog is possibly my favourite model he has made. Never seen anything like it before. Its innovative models like this that make me pleased the site is continuing. I will start saving in the hope this one comes up again. battlesinminiature.blogspot.com If you see this Paul any news on the Pen & Sword book? I believe its on pre order at Amazon. |

"This was done so I take that leap in moving away from model making and get into art." The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. There are a lot of great articles on your blog that could live on in the ether even if you don't update the site. Removing great content from the web is always a sad thing. Does it cost money for you to host the blog site? If not, what's the harm in leaving it for posterity? |

Dantes right..just leave it, you never know and it would be a shame to remove the content Cheers Paul |
