Hi
I'm about to start painting some Nassau Infantry:
link
and Dutch Belgian 27th Chasseurs:
link
Can anyone suggest what 'Green' to use.
I'm looking at using the Vallego colours
'Deep Green' 70.970 (72) as the base coat and
'Intermediate Green' 70.891 (74) as a highlight.
Any other suggestions? Anyone who has paited these units that might be able to provide some photos of your work would be of great help.
Thanks.
Scott

That's my version of Nassau infantry, 1/72 scale. I use any dark green acrylic that looks good, add some white for highlights.

Unfortunatly I can't see the picture.

Me. I'd aim for a green that's more vivid than say 95th or French dragoons.

Hi Mycenius
You are correct. Your guys are my inspiration.
But I believe your lads were painted by DPS, so I suppose you don't know what green they used do you?
Cheers

No Sorry – I don't… It's hard to see in the photos but the DPS painter has actually done a layered effect with 3 shades of green that has the look of 3 successively darker washes but was done by brush (you could get the same effect with 2 brush layers – the second a lightened highlight of the base colour – and then a dark green ink wash done lightly into the shadows).

I used vallejo park green for mine – gave them a black wash and then highlighted with park green gain.

Mycenius,

I'd like to congratulate you on your figures. I'd also like to post a link to your pictures on the Project Hougoumont Facebook page, where we are actively engaged in a number of discussions, including wargaming.

Kind regards

John
