Andrew Kernack, writing in White Dwarf, declared that in Warhammer he prefers
to don my black cape and play as the villain, whether in the guise of a Warrior of Chaos or a Beastmen. What do you prefer? * I like villains, too * I prefer to play the good guy * I don't play Warhammer |

I've only played WFB a dozen times, and only been dwarves. So
good guys, I guess. |

I used to play fairly frequently way back when and, for reasons I don't really recall, preferred the Skaven. I think it was all the goofy weapons that were as dangerous to my own troops as they were to the enemy. LT |

I always played Space Marines in 40K and the Empire in Fantasy Battle . . . not sure if either qualify as "Good Guys," though . . . ;) Shawn. |

I like to play Orks and Orcs. Although I have an Empire army, a Space Marine army, and a Imperial Guard army. Orcs are random, always unreliable, and so fun to play-even when I lose. |

While I don't play the Warhammer rules I do play games set in the Warhammer universe. I prefer the Empire. In 40K setting I prefer my Ultramarines sub-chapter, the Stormhammers. |

Warhammer is the only place where I play the bad guys. In 40K and historicals I always play the good guys. |

It's fantasy. Ergo, I avoid it. |

Orcs-seses. They don't care if they win or lose, just as long as there's fighting involved. |
chonk34 | 15 Oct 2011 11:04 p.m. PST |
I like both, but when it comes to the bad guys I tend to lean toward the goofy or wacky armies rather than the truly evil armies. I like the Orcs & Goblins and the Skaven, as well as the Empire and Dwarfs. I lean away from the really heavy Chaos stuff, especially Nurgle and Tzeentch. When it comes to Warhammer 40k I prefer the good guys, aside from the Orks, who in both games I see as more of a neutral army. They just want to have fun, and for them the most fun that can be had is krumpin' heads. |
Delthos | 15 Oct 2011 11:37 p.m. PST |
I like a little of good, bad, and inbetween. In Warhammer Fantasy I've have Empire, Tomb Kings, Warriors of Chaos, and Lizardmen armies. I also have some Daemons, most Slaneesh and Tzeentch stuff. In 40K I have IG, Eldar, Tyranids, and Dark Eldar. |

I have dwarf, Orc, undead and chaos armies so I do both, good and dastardly
|
Caesar | 16 Oct 2011 8:04 a.m. PST |
There are good guys in Warhammer? |
Chuckaroobob | 16 Oct 2011 9:58 a.m. PST |
Most of my armies are bad guys in Fantasy, good guys in 40k. Go figure. |
jpattern2 | 16 Oct 2011 10:47 a.m. PST |
Skaven, but I play them as the good guys. |

There are Good Guys in Warhammer? I never noticed. Not even Brettonia is all that good. Richard III, Act I, scene 1, 28-31 |

With Warhammer's Black and Gray Morality is it even possible to play the good guy? I mean, individual heroes might be good, but not the factions themselves. |
CeruLucifus | 17 Oct 2011 10:59 a.m. PST |
No matter whom I play, I tend to roleplay for humorous effect. |
The Angry Piper | 17 Oct 2011 11:46 a.m. PST |
Both. Started with pre VC/TK undead, moved onto Orcs which was my longest running army, dabbled in Brettonians until even I couldn't stand their cheese, and then moved onto High Elves, which never got painted. Then I stopped playing. |
Tiny Legions | 18 Oct 2011 7:58 a.m. PST |
Both here as well. From the title I was wondering if this was going to be a "Bash GW" post. |
billthecat | 18 Oct 2011 9:58 a.m. PST |
I would love to bash GW. But I will not, as that is not the point of the thread. I haven't played any GW games in years, but the following is still applicable: As far as 'goodies and baddies' goes, I like to have a force of EACH, although my choice is ultimatley decided by other factors such as the overall theme of the faction, the look of the models, how they play on the table, and conversion/painting possibilities. I have played eldar, chaos, orks, and marines in 40K, Orcs, dwarves, and chaos in WFB, Meneroth and Cryx in WarMachine
This gives one gaming options AND painting variety. If I HAD to choose only one faction per game, it would depend on other factors, as noted above. |
Mithmee | 18 Oct 2011 12:30 p.m. PST |
I don't play Chaos but I have a huge Ork & Goblin army but they are not pure evil. |
SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER | 18 Oct 2011 5:45 p.m. PST |
Neither!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Poi000 | 19 Oct 2011 2:26 a.m. PST |
Since I started (3rd edition I think) Undead, Empire, Ogres, Snotlings (yes, I used a snotling horde from an old O&G book. It was the most fun I've had with WFB) Dwarfs, High Elfs, Skaven. So I'd vote for yes, I like fantasy, but I choose my faction because of toys and fluff, not good or evil. |
Scorpio | 19 Oct 2011 8:01 a.m. PST |
If this makes it to a vote, please include a choice for "I don't play Warhammer." |
