I'm doing a lot of retro SF gaming at the moment and want a Ming the Merciless type figure and a main henchman guy to go with him. I'm wanting them both in a larger size bigger say than 35mm. Any suggestions? |

hmmm Crooked Dice have a 30-32mm version
Wargames Supply Dump had a line of fun 32+mm Flash Gordon miniatures but they are unavailable at this time. Sorry |

He's pretty good, I might just have to get me one of those. Shame about the Flash Gordon figs though! |

Can't help you with anything bigger then 32.The Merciless Emperor from Ars Minima is good. arsminima.net/shop As for henchmen, you could cobble together roman soldiers and SF weapons. You could also use the martians from Paroom station link or the Radon Zombies link |

I don't know if these are still available. link Here is an additional source. link |

Flogglestreet, the reason why I wanted my Ming and henchman bigger than 35mm is so they would not look too silly next to my Daleks, but I guess I could relax that idea a little and say my Daleks are bigger than humans. The Arsminima figs are very cool, I'll see what is available at SELWG tomorrow and if I'm unsuccesful and have some cash left for the rest of the month (eating-pah!) I'll cetainly get Ming and the Rocketman (sounds like agood name for a band). |

I had a further look at the Crooked Dice site and noticed their very cool not-Spectrum figures which could be very cool hero models, especailly if I took the silly hats off some of them and tried to give them a space cowboy/Han Solo vibe. |

Hey SA, you could be in luck, if you're prepared to compromise with scale. Ironclad have just released a Ming in 28mm and they should be at SELWG: ironcladminiatures.co.uk Regards, TC. |

Ooooh, he's kinda dinky, he might just fit the bill. Now I need a Vader-ish henchman to kick the Martain Imperial Guard around. |

I guess none of us have thought that the evil overlord could be female? I'm sure there are some gorgeous looking female tyrant figures for the role. |

Yes, must be gorgeous, not Minging ;) |

I got the Ironclad Ming figure and made him a bit taller by making putting him on a slotta base and making that a bit taller with greenstuff. A Mini Ming would look too comical. I've got a Warhammer Nurgle Champion who I gave a Space Marine head with respirator, and two chainswords as the Henchman/Vader figure. |

Camera is totally farbot! I'll have to get my sister's husband to take some decent shots of these and my new corridor scenic bits. He's far better a togger than i am. |
