The Nemesis Dreadknight is a new model from Games Workshop for the Grey Knights, consisting of a Grey Knight pilot strapped to a large armored robot.

3. Whats it for? fighting greater deamons or something. Why is the pilot so exposed one las cannon to the head and it's a pile of junk. |

7-8. It's a neat design, and if nothing else is just chock full of great bits for other stuff. Use the legs & arms with the usual dreadnought torso, etc. |

4 – Don't like the exposed pilot. |

The pilot is wearing terminator armour. I agree that having more armour in front of him would seem to make sense but it is not like he is just hanging out with nothing between the bullets and his . |

Oh, yeah, I'd give it a 7 too. |

1. I personally find it ridiculous. Not only does the exposed pilot seem deranged (don't get me started about the whole Marines don't wear helmets issue), but the fact that the thing has absolutely no peripheral vision. The pilot located in the chest can see anything from that position. To see to the side or behind him, he would have to turn the entire machine. It would make more sense if he was encased in the machine and used sensors to see (even the crappy version of sensors in 40K) so that the machine would have a much wider field of vision. As it is, I have no idea how it would fight in HtoH combat unless the pilot is a psyker and uses that ability to "see". The whole thing just does not work for me. Jeff |

5. I bought one and was disappointed with it. You look at it and think it has parts for replaceable weapons that you can magnetize on, but you do not! For instance, the hands come in two parts. You get 4 back of hand parts (two fists, one sword, one hammer), but only two front (knuckles and fingers). The weapons you would hope get swapped at the mount, but you only get two weapon "bases" and a bunch of smaller parts that add on to that base structure. Too many to just magnetize. So either I have to buy a second dreadknight or do a lot of recasting. The elbows and knees are fixed poses, so it can be pretty static because of all the hydraulics and hoses, but that is just where an experienced modeller comes in. The exposed pilot is silly, but I planned to replace the whole front with a dreadnought front anyway. |

5. I have two of them. One of them is magnetized to have swappable weapons systems, and I've got them ready for painting, but haven't started them yet. |

2. I think it looks remarkably silly. I think the Eldar War Walker looks way better and is essentially the same concept (minus the HTH option). |

I know it's supposed to be "ancient tech," but the style jars with everything else in the Grey Knights armory. |

GW: 5 Conversion: 8 This digital conversion is pretty cool:
link I'd still close in the cockpit. It would make it more dreadnaughty and fit in stylistically. But as stated, the driver is in termie armor. In the 40k universe, he doesn't get much better protected then that. As to vision, I'm sure he is plugged into the dreadnights sensors and has a 360 view that way. If I were to build one, I'd do it this way. |

That version is very cool! |

This is sort of how I imagined it first time I got to inspect one. However
Rating the model, it's a 1 for me. I like the legs on it, but that's all. It's a garbage idea and I pray that they never give it to all marines like they probably will with the Stormraven since no one can afford Forgeworld Thunderhawks. |

Silly, but still so 'kewl' that I would like to see it in action. It IS 40K, after all
no point in getting huffy over realism. Easily destroyed by killer clowns with chain saws, for instance. |

It looks to be too tall and weedy, like an eldar war walker. When i think dreadnaught i envision bulky and imposing masses of Iron, ceramite and thermoplastic. |

Completely laughed out loud at the last pic and the over-weaponization!! Waitasec
that's a CHAOS symbol on the top of that helmet shield or cockpit-thingy of that last pic!! |

I managed to magnetise the (ranged) weapon options as well as the cc weapons. Two gun units were attached to arms – only the business ends were magnetised (so the psilencer and psycannon barrel cluster/muzzle and incinerator muzzle). The hands had the hex stub removed and replaced with a 3x2mm magnet. A single 3x1mm magnet went into the hole. Thumb/finger hand parts for hammer and sword were greenstuffed. They're pretty much only sausage shapes, so not beyond even a mediocre sculptor. I even made up (and magnetised) a personal teleport array. Overall, the model I give a 6. Certain elements were daft (Nemesis baby carrier and exposed pilot to start with). More poseable legs would have been nicer (they can do it with the sentinel, why not this one?) |
