We are very pleased to preview the first infantry codes for the Nova Respublik line, the Pekhorty (infantry) and support packs. First up is the infantry squad, made up of three teams -- a command team with a sergeant, heavy anti-material missile team, and comms trooper (who has a radio on his back to which one made add an aerial if one wishes), then two fireteams. Each of these has a squad heavy pulser, a PGL-7 (plasma grenade launcher 7), a corporal as teamleader with the redoubtable Nova Respublik assault pulser, and two other riflemen with pulsers.
Next we have the platoon weapons pack -- a RAM mortar team, a superheavy pulser team, and a sniper in a poncho.
For platoon command we have a lieutenant, a political officer (cocking his pistol in case the lieutenant says anything not sufficiently patriotic), the lieutenent's driver, a holomap generator (with map), and a medic.
Finally, a pair of Nova Respublik tanker halves, which fit into the hatches of the Red Banners and Yozhiks.
The basic outfit of the riflemen is a cloth uniform with ablative armour worn on shoulders, chest and thighs. The helmet has a VR lens over the left eye (a cheap response to the full VR in the Federal helmet) and a smaller gun camera above that which feeds into the high command grid. Should be available in a few days. Each pack will be sold as shown above, but a platoon pack will also be available (one platoon command set, three infantry squads, and two weapons sets). Models were sculpted by Mike Broadbent and painted by Artmaster Studio. Thanks for looking! |

Zac runs for the high ground and some cover before the stampede and drooling starts, now thats what i call a really well thought out production you have just about thought of everything someone would need to get a good sized force on the table without having to wait for any later releases. Ive got to get myself that sniper as i am thinking that the ponco makes the figure reasonable generic enough to fit into any other near future force, Well done Khurasan

Very nice. Good to see heroic infantry in solidarity with glorious armored forces of People's Nova Respublik. Best, JBR |
Wolfprophet | 11 Oct 2011 11:31 p.m. PST |
Oh. Very very nice. Though. Question
.possible to order certain figures separately, outside the normal shopping cart? I'd want each squad to have a medic attached, as I easily see them needing to treat alot of casualties. :) |

Nice release, good to see all the troops needed for a force released at one time. |

Those are nifty-decent looking guys. I am glad to see a complete team/set of Command Figures. That is my big complaint about most other miniature lines: They don't have a complete set of command figures
. Of course, most of the stuff I have to compare it to is old Citadel Striker miniatures and 6mm Adler stuff. |
Eli Arndt | 12 Oct 2011 4:46 a.m. PST |
Jon hits it right on the nose once again! I like the optics on the helmets. Any chance we could get a snap or two of some raw lead? The paint jobs are lovely, but as with the Exterminators, the camo obscures the details of the figures (as it is meant to!). -Eli |
DinOfBattle2 | 12 Oct 2011 4:58 a.m. PST |
Those are fantastic. Will the Space Demons with bioweapons be released at the same time? |
Cheomesh | 12 Oct 2011 5:25 a.m. PST |
These look great! Unfortunately there's too many special weapons for it to be an economical choice for a FAD force, but they're great in any case. M. |
khurasanminiatures | 12 Oct 2011 6:04 a.m. PST |
Good question DinOfBattle2! I've been asking myself that same thing. I may release the Timonids and SD Shockforce this week and NR next. The RPK (Arab-style modifications to these, the Raathist Party of Kym) will be painted in a desert scheme and so will show the outfit a bit better --- although they have a turban around their helmets, a short mantle that hangs down from the back of the helmet, and facial hair, they are otherwise the same as the NR troopers as they are supplied with military equipment by the UPSR. Their uniform will be tan with medium brown armour so it should be easier to make everything out. |
Jamesonsafari | 12 Oct 2011 6:05 a.m. PST |
very nice indeed. Done a good job of making them look real yet futurisitc and not just WW2 in space Soviets. They'd probably make good 'Alliance' troops for a 'Firefly-esque' setting too. We all assume that a future "Earth Defence Force" will look very American/NATO but will it really? What Chinese, Russian or S. Asian influences? Maybe Brazil will have all the politcial clout at the time, who knows? |

Interesting, ablative armour has been part of sci fi gaming since at least Traveller (perhaps earlier?) but I don't recall anyone trying to represent it on models before. That actually is rather like what I imagined. |
DonLeg | 12 Oct 2011 7:08 a.m. PST |
Oh come on! Cut it out. I just ordered last week
now this.. |
SpaceJacker | 12 Oct 2011 7:28 a.m. PST |
Great figures! If I had some ( I'm about maxxed out on human military figures) I'd paint them in solid colors like the political officer instead of camo. |
Eli Arndt | 12 Oct 2011 7:42 a.m. PST |
Wow, that is cool that you have variations already in the works. Really makes this feel like a real national force. -Eli |

Any chance we can get a generic riflemen pack in the future for those of us using rules picky on the specials/trying to make variants? M. |
Wolfprophet | 12 Oct 2011 8:57 a.m. PST |
You know
. Looking at them again
.and looking at my IG army sitting mostly painted on the shelf next to me
These guys scream " realistically armed 15mm Imperial Guard proxies" to me. 40K's lack of LMG and SAW-type weapons never ceases to bother me. |
Eli Arndt | 12 Oct 2011 9:12 a.m. PST |
They would make good IG stand-ins Ya! -Eli |

There's even a Commissar. |

The perfect release – good poses, a full range of types, and even a map board! |
Judge Doug | 12 Oct 2011 11:49 a.m. PST |
these are PERFECT for my near-future Russian force. i will be ordering as soon as they become available. |
khurasanminiatures | 12 Oct 2011 1:49 p.m. PST |
Thanks Judge Doug, glad you think so -- it was a balancing act to keep the models looking plausible but still giving them definite Sci Fi pedigree. |
Judge Doug | 12 Oct 2011 2:25 p.m. PST |
they will fit right in with 15mm scale T-80U and BTR-80A's :) i am very excited. i am just getting into 15mm gaming, looking for near-future stuff, and i cannot wait to get these figs! |
(I make fun of others) | 12 Oct 2011 2:35 p.m. PST |
I think the models mostly do have a SF pedigree except the MG which looks basically like a straight Kord MG, but then again, that looks halfway toward being a SF weapon anyway. |
doug redshirt | 12 Oct 2011 6:07 p.m. PST |
There was an extra pack of female Federal troops, that included a SAW and rifleman. It would be nice for the same thing with the Nova Respublik, but two riflemen instead. I can actually see the PGL-7 as a conventional grenade launcher for squad support. I have actually gone back to the idea of 5 man fireteams instead of 4 men. I was thinking a force deployed overseas or on a different planet actually needs a larger fireteam to keep up to fighting strength, since reinforcements would be few and far between. |
McWong73 | 12 Oct 2011 8:11 p.m. PST |
Are the RPK just conversions, or are they getting a release? More great work here Khurusan. |
khurasanminiatures | 12 Oct 2011 8:56 p.m. PST |
Both actually -- they are conversions of the NR infantry, and they are getting a full release! . Everything you see here will be modified to serve in Raathist service. Think of these as like Egyptians in 1973, largely dressed and equipped as Soviets, except the RPK, with their turbans, helmet mantles, lack of helmet optics, and facial hair, being fairly distinct from the NR troopers. |

I know where my Neo Turkish Empire will be getting troops from now. Any chance of a new MBT? Something like an advaced M1 or Leopard II, can't remember what the Turks are calling their new tank. |
doug redshirt | 12 Oct 2011 9:28 p.m. PST |
What will the RPK have instead of a political officer? |
khurasanminiatures | 12 Oct 2011 9:40 p.m. PST |
A mullah. Tanks are already made, the Red Banner/Eagle/Lightning. |
Splod89 | 12 Oct 2011 10:01 p.m. PST |
Oh hells to the yes! Any chance of seeing the 6mm Australian vehicles in 15mm? They're perfect for my OUDF, especially there are all these lovely ESU to face off against ;) |
Cheomesh | 13 Oct 2011 5:01 p.m. PST |
Any idea when the full store will be back up and running? M. |
khurasanminiatures | 13 Oct 2011 5:02 p.m. PST |
Interesting question Splod -- the 15mm Cane Toad is being painted now, and I'm just waiting for the cannons for the Taipan and Goanna! |
