I though I'd share a picture of a Hail Caesar casualty marker I made recently.

picture

I used some easily converted Warlord Games multi part plastic Celts in the construction. With some modelling clay these formed a 10mm deep recess to contain a 16mm Roman Numeral D6. A single Warlord metal casualty figure crawling from the carnage completed the scene.

Cute idea – the use of the Roman numeral dice really adds to the impact.

Are Roman numeral dice readily available in the US?

That marker is very creative.

That is a great idea. I was wondering how I was going to do this for Hail Caesar. For black powder I just use markers with 1, 2 or 3 casualty figs on them. But with 6 stamina points that becomes more difficult for Hail, Caesar. This is a very effective way to model it and looks pretty good to boot. Nice job.

Bravo. Great idea.

NOw that is an idea someone NEEDS to put into production – great idea for making dice as markers look appealing.

Warlord games – what a great idea for a new plastic set – HC and BP casualty markers for use with dice. Get cracking!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Jaz, I was thinking the same thing. Can't see Warlord producing separate plastic casualties anytime soon though, Renedra perhaps? Warlord could produce a body pile (tree stumps work well too) in resin and commission their own themed dice. Would work for Black Powder too. The issue is how much would people pay for playing pieces that don't get to fight back? Also you still need to account for the excess loss that is not retained at the end of each turn. Priestleys Wheel of Death might be the way forward after all. All the same, dice look and feel right to me.
