It sounds like Dreadfleet Ships will mix, interestingly enough, with Both Man o' War and Uncharted Seas. Scale and size being somewhat relative in a Fantasy setting (Aren't Fractals fun?) Uncharted Seas is roughly 1/600, Dystopian Wars is roughly 1/1200, Man o War had a very "stretchy" scale (somewhere between 1/1200 and 1/300, depending on the model) For Uncharted Seas, they seem to blend in at about Cruiser size, and present an opportunity to create scenario driven single "raider" or ragtag/Pirate and Undead Fleets awaiting Fan written rules. I suspect Some Dreadfleet ship-specific rules could, potentially: even be ported in directly to Uncharted Seas. For Man o War they would scale out as "Emperor" Capital Command Ships, similair to the ridiculously large 'Black Ark of Naggaroth' I am actually kind Jazzed by this idea. There are even MOW scale Human, 'Ghost Pirate-ey', and Dwarf ships currently produced by Green Forest Trading Company for those unwilling to hunt for and/or to pay the collector prices for the original GW ships link These could of course potentially be reverse-engineered/ ported Back into DreadFleet
along with the other original Man 'o' War ships (if DreadFleet rules end being interesting enough) Still need to see side by side photos, of course. Yes, I am trying to talk myself into buying a copy.

The problem with the Dreadfleet ships would be that they are totally overladden with silly stuff, that will not mix in with anything else. I could see using the floating ghost ship and maybe that dwarven thing, but the rest is right out. I guess they could be used for scenarios or for flagships or the like in Uncharted Seas, but they will be too big for Man O War. |

hwarang-
but they will be too big for Man O War. That is my point though: they really aren't. Yes, they are massive compared to ships of the line, but they are only slightly larger than Man o' Wars
The SeaDrake (the elven vessel) is roughly 95mm long and about 80-90mm tall when you measure the full mast height, A metal MOW empire Greatship is about 70mm long and 75mm high. The style will certainly blend with the Elvish Man o War fleet.
Yes, it will be bigger, but not bigger than the Ark of Naggaroth; in fact its about the same size. link As you pointed out: the Dwarf ship is pretty much in scale w/ Mano war: roughly 65mm long. Thus: it makes an excellent alternative for the very rare and often Very Overpriced 60mm Dwarf flagship – Dreadnought. Or; a new type of 'Dwarf King' Flagship, if one has existing Dreads.
or gets the Green Forest Trading Company "steam" fleet.
So: we have Imperial, Dwarven, High Elf, a coupla ships that will work for Chaos
Skaven, Dark Elf, Tomb King Undead, Vampire Counts undead (Pyrate), (and remember: Undead Pirates are available from GFTC:
Compare: link I honestly think this is a much belated Present for ManoWar Players. I fully expect Rules for these ships in Man o War to show up at The Sea of Claws (the ManoWar Yahoo group) quite soon. One last argument in favor of mixing the two sets of ships: Dreadfleet Cogs are exactly the same size as the smallest ships in ManoWar: about 15-20mm! The Cog rules also allow an easy port of ManoWar ships into DreadFleet. Win/ Win. |

Wow, those are straight-up rip-offs of the MOW dwarf ships. You'd think they might have changed something, besides just leaving off detail. |

Excellent posts, Volstagg. My copy should arrive sometime this week. I plan to use the sea mat, the scenery, and at least a few of the ships to supplement my huge MoW collection. I only own a few of the Uncharted Seas pieces, including a few of their Orc ships and the Zombie Whales (Bone Griffons Frigates). The designs of the other ships leave me cold for some reason. At any rate, this is definitely a present for MoW players. Even if you don't buy or even play the game, it's generated a *lot* of discussion about, and renewed interest in, MoW on the net, including the Sea of Claws Yahoo group: link |

zak_ukm has posted the first side by side comparison of DreadFleet and ManoWar ships: link Yup. they'll work quite well. (Yes, it is a yahoo group so you have to be a member to access the images; If you play ManOWar you probably already are. If not, its worth the effort: a -huge- amount of expansion material is available. Ill post other comparison photos when they become available.) |

There's a new Dystopian wars underwater "robo-squid" ship. The chaos dwarf ship would fit right in with that. |

I'm already thinking about using the Flaming Scimitar as a 'Bane Tower of Tzeentch' for an all Slaanesh fleet. |
