I have one of these ships and just wanted to share how PERFECT it is for 15mm Scifi gaming.

The cockpit is just wide enough to comfortably fit two pilots, its about tall enough to be be divided into three decks and a fourth maintenance sub-deck.

Sorry about the blur, and the models present besides the Dropship are 15mm Eureka Ventaurans and a Zevezda 1/100 Panzer III Tank.

Kurt did do a fantastic job on modeling the bigger mech scale IWM Leopard Dropship, if only they had choosen to cast it in resin or plastic instead of that nasty foam, but thats a old gripe and topic now days, but yes it does make for a superb looking Dropship in 15mm scale.

Psyckosama01 Oct 2011 8:42 a.m. PST

Also makes a great armed shuttle… or unarmed shuttle if you leave the turret off.

Samulus01 Oct 2011 9:44 a.m. PST

Do they still make these?

AVAMANGO01 Oct 2011 9:47 a.m. PST

Yes they just started reselling them again last month but you will have to order it directly from IWM though.

I still have the clicky Mechwarrior ship in the basement.

Positively titanic for 15mm.

Would work for 6mm too … you have to have some way to get Mechs/Titans/Combat Walkers on the ground …

Psyckosama01 Oct 2011 4:32 p.m. PST

@legion

It's actually a 6mm scale model…

Well … better yet !!!! evil grin

nvdoyle01 Oct 2011 8:35 p.m. PST

I've got one of those Leopards of the original run, have yet to put it together.

I'd be willing to trade it for an Mechwarrior Aurora. grin

Psyckosama03 Oct 2011 7:38 p.m. PST

I'd love to get a mechwarrior Aurora too… they're awarsome.

DyeHard04 Oct 2011 9:47 a.m. PST

Can someone please post a direct link to this ship.

I do 15mm, but never did Battle-tech or Mecks and such.
So I am clueless on finding this on the Iron Wind site.

Thank you!

I don't know if this is the one pictured above, it looks different to me.
Before ordering maybe contact IWM to ask for dimensions of model??

bluebirds4012 Jul 2013 5:40 p.m. PST

Micropanzer12 Jul 2013 6:05 p.m. PST

ugly as sin -very 1980's -- just saying

McWong7312 Jul 2013 6:37 p.m. PST

The thread is three years old….

infojunky15 Jul 2013 4:13 p.m. PST

It is certainly a very brutal aesthetic. It is defnately a flying cargo boat rather than a sleek space-ship-come-plane shuttle/lander.
