I'll be needing some rowing government troops and pirates, in both 15mm and 25mm/28mm scale, for rowboats, longboats, and dugout canoes, as appropriate. Looking for figs from around circa 1700 – 1720, or so, but War of Spanish Succession, or even Napoleonics might to in a pinch. Ruddermen, and seated riders would also be useful.

Might need some natives too, for the dugouts.

So, who makes them in 15mm scale?

25mm/28mm scale?

Minifigs do a Napoleonic British longboat and crew in 15mm which might be of some use: link

There are also some useful civilian types in the AWI range (not boatmen though …)..

RSM figures 25-28mm have some rowing, tillermen, and seated figures (officers and fusiliers) in the Spanish section of the 7 Years War catalog. (Website says they were formerly London War Room). See Dayton Painting Consortium. Nice figures

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I really appreciate them.

Feel free to add more, if you think of others.

I especially need pirate paddlers (like for canoes), in 25mm/28mm, and 15mm scale. May have to go with French and Indian Wars figs, or others that are close to the period and dress, which might make suitable buccaneers/pirates.

Eureka have a whaling boat & crew, Nic may be prepared to run some of the crew, but it is a really nice boat too.

For natives, Blue Moon's new Dark Africa range. Also, check into Thoroughbred Miniatures. If you can track them down (don't get your hopes up) Village Green had nice ships and better crews.

Try RAFM. They have canoes and crews in their Flint and Feather range.

Highly recommend the figures now sold by RSM. They were the one's designed and cast by Vince in the late lamented London War Room. Vince is not late, but prehaps lamented, and living in Kansas City.
The figures are Front Rank size, easy to convert and come with paddles! Plenty of pirate possibilities as well.

Some wagon drivers from Front Rank also fit in well.

Another thought – years ago, I chopped Scruby artillery figures off at the waist, bent the arms and stuck them in scratch built ship's boats to simulate them sitting.

Were they all named "Bob"?
