In honor of all these ridiculous polls as of late, I present a truly momentous discussion.
With whom would you serve:

Sgt O'Rourke (F Troop)
Sgt Bilco (Phil Silvers version)
Sgt Bilco (Steve Martin)
Sgt Crapgame (From Kelly's heroes)

Connard Sage28 Sep 2011 7:54 a.m. PST

'Bilko'

OTE.

None of them, I'm not a Septic.

vojvoda28 Sep 2011 8:04 a.m. PST

I severed with a guy like Bilko, Isn't that the sorce of the quote to "Bilk" someone?

As for me Sgt O"Rouke hands down.

Sgt O'Rourke (F Troop)

At least you could trust him to watch your back

Plynkes28 Sep 2011 8:16 a.m. PST

Some Brit ones for Connard.

Sergeant Ned Fletcher…

If things got really bad, we could always clear off in his TARDIS.

Plynkes28 Sep 2011 8:22 a.m. PST

Sgt. Nobby Clarke.

picture

Though his obsession with Nora Batty's stockings, and propensity for crazy stunts might become a little wearing eventually.

Chocolate Fezian28 Sep 2011 8:28 a.m. PST

That's Sergeant Grimshaw.
Carry on Sergeant

Chocolate Fezian28 Sep 2011 8:30 a.m. PST

and that's Corporal Copping

Chocolate Fezian28 Sep 2011 8:37 a.m. PST

Personally I would choose Sergeant Wilson

Daffy Doug28 Sep 2011 8:45 a.m. PST

My choice, since I have to make one:

religon28 Sep 2011 8:51 a.m. PST

If forced to choose…

While many have been hurt, few have died under his command.

Sgt Bilco (Phil Silvers version)

There is always a card game going on.

Sundance28 Sep 2011 9:20 a.m. PST

Sgt O'Rourke, of course!

Plynkes28 Sep 2011 9:25 a.m. PST

No, this is Sgt. Grimshaw and Corporal Copping…

Two totally different guys. But the one does also have his own TARDIS and the other is also obsessed with Nora Batty. Odd, that.

Col. Sanders all the way!

Clovis Sangrail28 Sep 2011 9:36 a.m. PST

Gunner Sgt. Harmann – if only for the quotes.

Norman D Landings28 Sep 2011 9:38 a.m. PST

Religon, I don't know who that is, but I think I can guess what kind of clubs he goes to.

I'm signing up with Sgt. Jim Masters, protagonist of Battle Picture Weekly's "The Sarge". Sarge Masters saw his lads through without fail every week.

("Darkie's Mob" was my favourite, but everybody involved died horribly. Not for me!)

Plynkes28 Sep 2011 10:12 a.m. PST

Sergeants Gibbs and Johnson from A Canterbury Tale. Acting as a sort of prototype Scooby Doo gang, a Tommy, GI and Land Girl team up to foil the spooky 'Glue Man' in wartime Kent, and the team proves too much for him.

"…And I would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids."

Also Sgt. Benton, Sgt. Bob Cryer, Old Bill from Charley's War, the aforementioned Sgt. Wilson, and for no particular reason, Coco Hernandez from Fame.

Colour Sergeant Bourne

religon28 Sep 2011 10:17 a.m. PST

@Norman D Landings,

He is a retired US Marine. His name is Robert Remus. He has extensive close combat experience.

After his military career ended, he has remained a popular American athlete for over 30 years. To my knowledge, he is the only real military man to be immortalized by the G.I. Joe franchise.

I think for me it would be with Sergeants MacChesney, Cutter, and Ballentine.

Lieutenant Starbuck:

I personally would serve under religon's choice, if only because according to authoritative sources, he has the constitution of a vending machine.

Look it up. grin

Hard to argue with Color Sergeant Bourne. But as a USAian, I'd have to go with Sgt. Rock.

With the inevitble movie in the works for 2012.
