Alrighty.

Was just trying to let you know you weren't that nebulous.

They are going to be a new faction for my Tomorrow's war games. They look awesome, kind of remind me of the troops in Aliens.

Amazing minis and paint jobs!

Splod8930 Sep 2011 4:20 p.m. PST

Finally got around to placing my order… Stupid pay staff *grumble*
Anyone know if the LAW gunners have a rifle sculpted slung or are they just carrying the LAW?

These are definitely going to act as my OUDF against my mate's NSL and NAC… Not quite sure how to fit the Khurasan Federals into the Stargrunt universe yet though.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP01 Oct 2011 1:40 a.m. PST

Marcin, congrats on the wonderful minis again!

Excuse me for jumping ahead, I know these minis have just barely gotten off the ground, but are you planning any enemy (Russians, etc..) for them at this point?

Cheers, and again, great job on the whole line. Cant wait to see what else you have in store for them!

U.K.

LAW gunners are also armed with rifles.
Some militia units are planned as support or enemies. Also in plans small power armour unit.

I can't decide whether I like the worms or not, but they're really interesting none the less :)
Thanks for letting me know about he LAW gunners.

Psyckosama03 Oct 2011 4:32 a.m. PST

Who would sell these in the US? Pico only seems to sell their 3mm offerings :(

marcin250103 Oct 2011 4:42 a.m. PST

Picoarmor will have them soon.

@Psyckosama

I'm in the US and they'll by be selling well to me!

:D

Marcin, thank you for the followup on the Militia. They sound fun!

15mm film crews are exactly what I have been hunting for – the Peter Pig set just wasn't doing it for me.

I'm thinking of something like the televised killing gameshows from SLA Industries done up in 5150: New Beginnings…

Splod8904 Oct 2011 7:12 a.m. PST

Yay! Mine just shipped :)
Can't wait.

First try on militia/rebels.

rolgan12 Oct 2011 2:05 p.m. PST

Looking good!

I would like to see some variation in equipment, ie shotguns, mixed armour, some with helms, some without…

And how about a lieutenant or NCO with a cybernetic arm? Nothing says militia like a rag-tag bunch of irregulars.

Got my Reports and Space Worms yesterday (lots of packages came in yesterday and still working through them all!). The Worms are nice and simple and will work well with my various bug forces. I think they may work as scouts. The Reporters are nicely detailed, but smaller than most of the companies current line of "15mm" SciFi troops. Not sure if the other human forces are larger than the reporters since I did not order any of them. I think they will work fine mixed in with other figures, but some may find them too small.

I now have a dilemma between these or Khurasans SF soviets, they are both very nice, hmmmmmmmmmm, wonder how they would mix, could be to opposing states with similiar backgrounds, now thats an idea.

Psyckosama12 Oct 2011 10:20 p.m. PST

Question… what's the role difference between the standard and heavy rifle intended to be?

"Question… what's the role difference between the standard and heavy rifle intended to be?"
Answer… anything you want it to be.

AVAMANGO12 Oct 2011 11:50 p.m. PST

I was also holding on to see the SF soviets from Khurasan and it is a very hard choice thats one has to make, but at the moment im leaning towards the Vistula Legion as i prefer the slightly chunkier sculpts but i will still need to give this some more serious thought…

marcin250114 Oct 2011 4:09 a.m. PST

Once again – Heavy rifles are kind of combi-weapon – standard assault rifle mated with heavier (let's say 20 mm) gun. Could work like light AT or anti-power armour weapon. Or like Gunner wrote anything you like… That's the beauty of SF ;)

Milita will get more variety of equipment. There are just first three figures. Cybernetic arm for a leader was also my idea ;)

@ AVAMANGO

I just got my order from Pico Armor on Tuesday. I wouldn't call them chunkier; some of the details, maybe. Like Jeff R said with the reporters, the infantry I received are noticably smaller than everything else I have from other manufacturers, but they're pretty sculpts. I think if I layer a couple washers into my bases for them I can disguise the height issue somewhat, even so, they'll still be a little slimmer looking than my other stuff.

Splod8914 Oct 2011 6:30 a.m. PST

Got mine today from Flying 15s, I love them. Just completed my test paint and will knock out the rest of the platoon in the morning.

Hi Jeff, any chance of a comparison photo? I'm a little worried about the size.

AVAMANGO14 Oct 2011 4:04 p.m. PST

A couple of comparison photo would really be much appreciated.

"First try on militia/rebels"

Really like two on the right! The one on the left looks like he is either a bad guy from the Matrix or he's wearing a powdered wig, lol.

Ok- quick and dirty:

From left to right:

GZG UNSC, Rebel Earth Force Marine, New Vistula Legion, GZG FSE, Micropanzer SAS, New Vistula (on 2x washers), RAFM, Eureka Ventauran.

All figs are mounted on fender washers with contoured fill just flush to the top of their integral bases.

Here are some comparisons of the Oddzial Reports and Space Worms to other minis you guys are familiar with. Sorry, I have not ordered the Legion, so can provide those. After taking the pictures, I must say they are closer in size than I originally thought.

Lots of pictures, but the new ones are at the end with the blue background:

Eli Arndt14 Oct 2011 7:47 p.m. PST

Looks like they stack up well enough. Heck a lot of the difference I'm seeing is in the base height.

Heck a lot of the difference I'm seeing is in the base height.

Unfortunately. Some of the early minis were done on pennies and have flex steel underneath while the other issues is that washers are not overly regular in their size. Hard to get them perfect. Sorry.

Jeff

Eli Arndt14 Oct 2011 8:37 p.m. PST

No worries. I actually meant the integral bases on the minis.

Gunner Dunbar Supporting Member of TMP14 Oct 2011 9:41 p.m. PST

OK, they don't look to bad, I am happier now.

comstarhpg14 Oct 2011 11:31 p.m. PST

Looking good to me :)
